Chongqing Central Park belongs to Chongqing Liangjiang New District.

Liangjiang New Area is the first state-level development and opening up new area in China's inland, as well as the third state-level development and opening up new area approved by the State Council after Shanghai Pudong New Area and Tianjin Binhai New Area.

The park is located in Yubei Yuelai Business Center District, covering a total area of 1.53 square kilometers, and is currently the largest open city center park in China. Chongqing Central Park is the 4th city central park in the world after Central Park in New York, Hyde Park in London, and Century Park in Pudong, Shanghai.

Chongqing Central Park is located in Yubei Yuelai business center area, between Jiangbei International Airport and Yuelai Convention and Exhibition Center, covering an area of 1.53 square kilometers, roughly north-south long strip unfolding, its north-south length of 2,400 meters, east-west the widest 770 meters, the narrowest 600 meters. In June 2011, the construction was officially launched. The park is positioned as a central park of the municipality facing the international community and fully displaying the city's image as a national center city and the Two Rivers New Area. The park will integrate Chinese and Western cultures, relying on the landscape features of Chongqing, reflecting the beauty of nature and harmony of the modern city park, which mainly contains five scenic spots: the central plaza, vibrant water features, sunny grassy slopes, peninsulas, mirrors and dense forest streams.
