Qinghai Vocational College of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Technology is located at the foot of Sun Moon Mountain at the western end of the eastern agricultural area of Qinghai Province, Huangyuan County, Xining City, at the upper reaches of Huangshui River, 43 kilometers east of Xining, the provincial capital. The Qinghai-Tibet Railway and National Roads 109 and 3 15 run through the county, with superior geographical location and convenient transportation. Facing the society, adapting to the market, the college implements open school running, and has now formed a new multi-level, multi-specification and multi-channel school running pattern integrating higher vocational education, secondary vocational education, short-term training and vocational skill appraisal.

The college has five departments and a basic department, including animal science department, animal medicine department, agriculture and forestry science department, agricultural economic management department and information engineering department.
