The Municipal Food and Drug Administration takes the lead in establishing a comprehensive coordination mechanism for food safety, is responsible for the comprehensive supervision of food safety and the supervision and management of food safety in catering services such as restaurants and canteens, and undertakes the responsibility of comprehensive coordination of food safety and organizing the investigation and handling of major food safety accidents. The Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce is responsible for the supervision and management of food circulation. Municipal Health Bureau (Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine) is responsible for sanitary treatment of the scene of food safety accidents, and carries out epidemiological investigation on the factors related to food safety accidents. Municipal Agriculture Commission (Municipal Agriculture and Industry Office, Municipal Supply and Marketing Cooperative) is responsible for the supervision and management of agricultural products production. The Municipal Bureau of Quality Supervision is responsible for the supervision and management of food production and processing. Municipal Water Affairs Bureau is responsible for the supervision and management of aquatic products quality and safety. The Municipal Bureau of Commerce is responsible for the supervision and management of pig slaughtering.

(2) Chengdu Food and Drug Inspection Corps is an administrative law enforcement agency directly under the Municipal Food and Drug Administration with reference to the Civil Service Law at the deputy bureau level. It has a case acceptance and audit office, a food and cosmetic inspection brigade and a drug and medical device inspection brigade, and is equipped with 61 administrative law enforcement personnel, including 1 chief captains and 2 deputy chief captains. There are 3 leaders at the level and 3 leaders at the deputy level. Its main responsibilities are: to be responsible for the formulation and implementation of sampling inspection plans for food, health food, medicines, medical devices and cosmetics in the city and the processing of sampling inspection results; To be responsible for investigating and handling illegal acts of catering services, health food, cosmetics, medicines and medical devices; Accepting reports and complaints about illegal acts.

(3) Except Jinjiang District, Qingyang District, jinniu district, Wuhou District and chenghua district, the leading cadres of food and drug administrations in other districts (cities) and counties are mainly managed by local party committees and governments, and their management systems are gradually adjusted to hierarchical management.

(4) The establishment, responsibilities and preparation of institutions affiliated to the Municipal Food and Drug Administration shall be stipulated separately.
