docomo store brand and experience space design in Japan.

NTT docomo is the largest mobile operator in Japan. With the popularization of smart phones, its business model has gradually changed from selling smart phones and developing new users to expanding and optimizing users' experience of using existing smart phones.

in order to cope with this major change in service form, docomo decided to replace some store spaces with spaces dedicated to communication and experience, such as smart phone workshops, new content trials and after-sales support. According to these changes, nendo designed two different types of stores for it.

it includes:

docomo shop (2 kinds) and d garden (7 kinds)

The first type docomo shop(2 kinds)

It will improve the basic functions of previous stores and introduce new communication and experience contents. In order to create a quiet and calm space atmosphere, the interior adopts a deep wood tone and warm gray, and is matched with the company's iconic red and warm lighting.

the second type of d garden(7 kinds)

"DGarden" is designed for a wider user group. This is a space dedicated to communication and experience, and at the same time, the functions of docomo stores are included in the form of stores in stores. Only one D letter is reserved in the name of d garden, in order to provide services to more smartphone users, not just docomo customers. At the same time, the word "shop" has also been replaced by "garden", conveying the concept of not taking sales as the purpose, and at the same time creating a friendly atmosphere open to everyone like a park.

also improved the working environment of employees from the perspective of comfort and functionality, and redesigned the backstage area, lockers, lounge and storage space. In order to adapt to the ups and downs of activities in the store, a flexible "mixed space" has been set up in the store, which can be switched between the consulting cubicle and the staff office, thus further improving the efficiency of the limited space.

in addition,

Nendo also designed brand VI vision for docomo store!

The patterns and logos in both stores are designed with the letter of docomo as the theme, and the similar elements and changing colors give the docomo brand a unified and dynamic feeling.

Staff uniforms have also been redesigned, and the style has become more casual and relaxed, in order to leave a more approachable impression on customers.

The original rigid suits for men and women have been replaced by diversified styles, including T-shirts, cardigans, maternity clothes and trousers, so that employees can match them more freely.

Nendo Dai Sato

One of the legendary figures in Japanese design

Dai Sato is the "favored son of heaven" in Japanese design today. Anyone who has seen the design works of Dai Sato and his "Nendo Design Office", regardless of whether you know the design or not, will be impressed by him.

"Nendo" is a Japanese design studio set up by Japanese designer Daisuke Sato in 2112. It covers a wide range of design fields and has bases in Tokyo and Milan, Italy.

Young Dai Sato's success in Japanese design is inseparable from his diligence and hard work. He was born in Canada in 1977 and returned to Japan to settle down at the age of 11. In 2112, he obtained a master's degree in architecture from Waseda University in Japan, and founded a company called Nendo in Tokyo in the same year. After three years of hard work, he opened the Nendo office in Milan.

Dai Sato is not only a young designer with extraordinary creativity and talent, but also a manager and operator with great leadership skills. He accepts design elites, and his company's services include architecture, interior, products, furniture, packaging and graphic design.

Nendo's works have shown their brilliance in many international exhibitions, such as Milan International Furniture Salon Exhibition in 2113-18; 2114 Paris Interior Furniture Fair; Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2115 and 2116, etc.

in addition, it has won important design awards such as "Design Report Special Award", "Designer Competition Award for Under 31 in Jida", "JCD Newcomer Award" and "Good Design Award" in Milan. His representative works are collected in world-famous art galleries such as New York Museum of Modern Art, Victoria and Albert Museum and Pompeii Cultural Center.

Since its establishment, it has not only won numerous design awards, but also been rated as one of the "111 most respected Japanese in the world" by Newsweek magazine.

However, Dai Sato was originally from architecture. How do cross-disciplinary architects shine in the design field? This can be traced back to his indissoluble bond with Milan International Furniture Fair ...

A trip

changed Dai Sato's career direction

In 2112, Dai Sato organized a graduation trip with friends, during which he visited Milan International Furniture Fair. This exhibition made Dai Sato's career development direction change by 181 degrees. "For the first time, we learned that so many architects were also designing furniture and products, and every corner of life was due to design.

with the hope that one day his works will go to Milan International Furniture Fair, Dai Sato immediately set up Nendo design office after returning to China, and successfully boarded the stage of Milan International Furniture Fair the following year, which became an instant hit with its unique Japanese style and ingenious design. From then on, Nendo design office entered people's field of vision.

the word nendo means "clay" in Japanese, which means it is extremely flexible and plastic. In order to make interesting and functional designs, he tried to dig out the stories behind the products and look for some design inspiration from the most ordinary life.

Dai Sato also clearly described his design philosophy-—Giving people a small "!" Moment, find those little "amazing" moments hidden in daily life that people don't often notice.

Nendo's design is to collect such moments, put them into design, and then present them to people's eyes, so as to re-interpret daily life. "We hope that when people see nendo's design, they can intuitively feel these small moments!"

"I like that my design is simple, but I don't want them to be cold. They need a little sense of humor and friendliness!" Dai Sato said.

He always thinks that good design

can help people live better.

So he dabbled in more industries,

and made great achievements in all walks of life.

From large items such as doors and bookshelves to small items such as pillows and Rubik's cube post-it notes,

they are not only in line with the public aesthetic, but also very practical.

the Chocolatexture series designed by nendo for the chocolate brand Maison et Objet has designed chocolate shapes with different textures and styles according to the furniture, giving the taste buds more peculiar touch.

The laser wireless mouse designed by Dai Sato,

can be said to be amazing.

The cool "Flash" laser mouse is only composed of plural planes, subverting the design of general curves ... just like the exquisite origami art, it is delicately folded into a shape suitable for hand holding; It's also a special appearance like taking it out of a CG picture with a coarse resolution. How can you not admire it?

Carton+Pump detergent replenishment container environmental protection packaging design

-

Hand sanitizer, shampoo and shower gel that can be refilled for many times are now very common, but reusing the same container will lead to hygiene problems, and the plastic replenishment bag itself is not environmentally friendly. In order to solve this problem, nendo designed a detergent replenishment container which can change the bottle body, is clean and sanitary, and can reduce plastic waste.

First of all, the main body of the container is a small box shaped like milk packaging, and it is equipped with an extrusion pump that can be directly inserted. When in use, the tip of the paper box can face down and be fixed from top to bottom by the extrusion pump and the square cover.

The squeezing pump can be inserted into the bottom of the carton like a drinking straw, so as to ensure that the liquid will not overflow from the carton during refilling, and because the whole carton will be replaced, the newly loaded detergent will not be mixed with the residual parts. In addition, the detergent will be gathered in the center of the "spire" of the box, avoiding the situation that it can't be squeezed out before it is completely used up.

the top cover and bottom cover of the box can also disperse the pressure borne by the extrusion pump, so that the paper box is not easy to collapse, and at the same time, it can prevent the box body from becoming soft due to moisture in the bathroom environment.

Different from the general plastic bag packaging,

The box-like shape of the paper box enables it to be stacked for storage.

Tokyo Hillt. Packaging design of dessert set of op Hotel

-

Hilltop Hotel was rebuilt from the barracks of the United States Armed Forces in 1953, and opened in Tokyo Imperial Tea House one year after renovation. In fact, the hotel has only 35 rooms that can be put into use, but it is famous for its unique and thoughtful service, and famous writers such as Yasunari Kawabata and Yukio Mishima have stayed here. Hilltop Hotel decided to redesign the dessert and package it as a gift box for sale, instead of having a separate packaging design for each product, all the sweets will be packaged according to the loose theme of the author's study.

each piece of paper around the book has a different number and color, so that when it is displayed on the bookshelf, the package contents can be visually distinguished through the spine.

brand and product design of GLOO series adhesive stationery

-

GLOO is a series of adhesive stationery, such as glue and adhesive tape, designed by nendo for Japan Reputation Company. The research and development of new products is to solve the small pressure of users in various aspects caused by products, just like the "where should I put the cover when I take it off?" Or "Is this shape convenient to hold?"

the main color of the product is matte white, and the font used for product logo and other information is small and the contrast is moderate, so it is ok.
