He was a complete victim of Liu Bang, who used him because he was too ambitious. Li Eat was a very arrogant person, he always fantasized that he could achieve the same feats as Su Qin and Zhang Yi. When Liu Bang's army was approaching Chenliu, Li Eat was gained by Liu Bang, Li Eat offered his plan to Liu Bang, and soon captured Chenliu, and got a large amount of military food, Liu Bang appointed Li Eat as the ruler of Guangye.
In 204 B.C., Li Yizi persuaded Liu Bang to lead his soldiers to attack Ao Cang, a large granary, which was located at the diversion of the Yellow River and the Jishui River, and from which the grain of the Central Plains was transported to the Guanzhong and the northern regions. The most important thing in ancient times to fight a war was the supply of grain and grass, and eventually Liu Bang captured this strategic place.
Before Han Xin sent his troops to Qi, Liu Bang also sent his lobbyist Li Yai to persuade the king of Qi to surrender, hoping to settle Qi through peaceful means. With the help of Li's tongue, he was able to persuade the king of Qi, Tian Guang, to surrender to Liu Bang. After Tian Guang decided to surrender, he ordered the 200,000 Qi troops in Lixia (present-day Jinan) to withdraw their combat readiness, and he kept Li at home and hosted a banquet for him. At this time, Han Xin decided not to fight after hearing that Li had persuaded the Qi king to surrender.
After Han Xin sent his troops to break through Lixing, Li Eat was quickly captured. Tian Dang was furious and said to Li Yai: "You bad old man is really bad, how dare you betray me, now I give you two ways to go, the first, persuade Han Xin to withdraw his troops, the second, put you into the pot to cook meat porridge. You see for yourself."
Li Eat is not a fool, he knows that he can't persuade Han Xin to stop attacking, and he also understands that this is a deliberate attempt by Liu Bang to make fun of himself. So, he was already in his sixties, so he could die, so he refused sternly and was finally thrown into the cauldron.
So I think that although he was boiled in a cauldron by the King of Qi, the real murderer was Liu Bang, who used his trust to pit the schemer, and put the blame on HanXin.
