Jiuzu Cultural Village is located on the bank of Sun Moon Lake in Nantou County, Taiwan Province Province, covering an area of 62 hectares. The overall layout is dominated by traditional village residential buildings, with modern facilities such as "Shuishalianli Palace" and "Laser Music Fountain" imitating European architectural style and artistic carving. In the village, there are all kinds of cultural, entertainment and living facilities, such as "Mountain Heritage Museum", performance hall, opera house, mountain view building and dining hall, among which lawns and gardens are dotted, which are simple, elegant and modern.

Origin

"Jiuzu" is the common name of Taiwan Province people for the nine ethnic groups of Gaoshan who have preserved more traditional culture except Pingpu people, namely Yami, Ami, Atayal, Saixia, Zou, Shao, Bunun, Beinan, Rukai and paiwan. Like Beijing's "Chinese Ethnic Garden" and Kunming's "Ethnic Village", Taiwan Province has also built a large-scale cultural facility-"Jiuzu Cultural Village" which integrates the collection, protection, publicity and display of traditional ethnic cultures and tourism.

Mr. Zhang Rongyi initiated the establishment of an amusement park with the theme of "Jiuzu", guided by Dr. Chen Qilu, Dr. Chichiiwa Suketaro, collector Mr. Xu Yingzhou, and provided many materials. Designer Yao Dexiong planned and started construction in 1983, and it was officially opened on July 27, 1986.

Park environment

Jiuzu Cultural Village is a combination of the cultures of the nine indigenous ethnic groups in Taiwan Province: Atayal, Saixia, Zou, Bunun, Beinan, Lukai, Dawu, Ami and paiwan, and then joined Shao. In addition, the whole park is planned to be divided into three theme parks: Aboriginal culture, Happy World and European Garden. In 2111, an aerial cable car was launched to carry tourists from Guanshan Building to Happy World, allowing them to have a bird's eye view of the whole park and the distant Sun Moon Lake.

Aboriginal culture

There are imitations of real houses of various ethnic groups in the park to create Aboriginal buildings, and there are performance theaters to show Aboriginal dance skills: Naluwan Theater and Shiyin Theater.

The theme facilities of Happy World include cable car, free-falling UFO, suspended roller coaster "Maya Adventure", and many other amusement facilities: Caribbean adventure, Hawaiian waves, space mountain, pirate ship, gold mine, hot air balloon, merry-go-round, small train, love boat ...

The residential buildings in Jiuzu Cultural Village are based on Japanese scholar Dr. Chichiiwa. The traditional characteristics are well preserved and embodied. Village landscape is divided into nine villages by ethnic group. Each village is self-contained and has a unique style. Some cover the roof with thatch, and some cover the beam with slate; Some dig holes for rooms, base stones for walls, some frame wood for columns, and bamboo for buildings; Some are carved with beams and painted with buildings, while others are simple and elegant. Around these buildings, there are static objects and dynamic performances showing tribal organizations, living facilities, religious sacrifices, wedding and funeral customs, etiquette taboos, etc., which are of great academic and ornamental value.
