When you arrive at Sydney Airport, Australia, whether it's for a connecting flight or just after you've flown in, Flora suggests that you take an hour to get closer to Qantas and learn more about the national airline, which was founded in 1920 and has been around for nearly a century.
Sydney Airport is home to Qantas, and the red-and-white kangaroo logo can be seen everywhere.
At Sydney T3, near Gate 13, follow the signs and take the elevator to the Qantas Heritage Collection.
Founded in the early 1990s by 15 retired Qantas veterans, the 1,000-square-meter gallery is a beautifully renovated and furnished showcase of Qantas' history.
On one side of the gallery is a full view of the airport's runway, with busy flights moving in and out.
On the other side of the pavilion are thousands of meaningful painted artifacts and memorabilia, all of which have been donated by Qantas passengers and staff, and carefully sorted, registered and cared for by management.
The valuable exhibits include exquisite handmade airplane models, a collection of historical flight schedules, airline tickets, cabin catering menus, photographs of celebrity passengers, as well as a variety of in-flight supplies and souvenirs.
The museum also offers a glimpse of the mysterious navigation equipment, airplane engine equipment and black boxes.
When passengers boarded the plane, they still copied the passenger list by hand.
The Qantas advertisements of all eras are particularly noteworthy, with each advertisement featuring art from that era.
A colorful banner hanging in the center of the pavilion chronicles Qantas' history in photographs from every decade since 1920.
While flights whizz by like silver eagles, walking through the pavilion and looking at the pictures and text is like walking through the history of Qantas, savoring its centuries-old legacy.
The most attractive part of the exhibition is the Qantas uniform display area, which shows Qantas winter, summer and ground crew uniforms from 1948 to the present.
This Qantas uniform, which was used from 1971-1974, looks very stylish and elegant now!

Qantas Airways is not just a little bit associated with fashion! The Qantas uniforms from 1986-1994 were designed by Yves Saint Laurent, the founder of the famous French luxury brand, that's right, the one we all know as YSL!
