Heze used to be a natural ancient river, where the water from Jishui meets and the water from Heshui flows out, connecting the two major water systems, namely Gujishui and Sishui. In the 13th year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1735), Cao Zhou was promoted to be the government, with Guo as the county. Because there is "Heshan" in the south and "Leize" in the north, Heze was named. Heze has a long history and enjoys the reputation of being "among the best in the world". Heze, Leize, Onoze and Mengzhuze, the nine schools in Yugong, are all in the territory. Fuxi, the ancestor of humanity, Shao Hao, the emperor of Dongyi, Emperor Shun, the wise monarch, Chiyou, the soldier's god of war, Wu Qi, the reformer, Sun Bin, the agronomist _ Shengzhi, Liu Yan, the economist, and Wen Zisheng, etc. were all born here, and Liu Bang ascended the throne and proclaimed himself emperor, Cao Cao achieved hegemony, Huang Chao Uprising and Sung Jiang Juyi all took place in Heze.
