Biography of Wu Yaodong

Wu Yaodong, male, born in 1965, is a professor at Tsinghua University and the chief architect of Tsinghua University Architectural Design and Research Institute.

Wu received his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from Tsinghua University in 1987, then studied under Prof. Wang Tan, and received his Master's Degree in Architecture from Tsinghua University in 1989, and studied in the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, University of Japan, under the supervision of Prof. Terunobu Fujimori, a famous Japanese architectural historian, as a doctoral dissertation thesis. Under the guidance of Prof. Terunobu Fujimori, a famous architectural historian in Japan, he was engaged in the research of his doctoral dissertation on "Japanese Modern Architecture", and was awarded the doctoral degree of Architecture by the joint training of the University of Tokyo and Tsinghua University in 1995.

During 1995-1997, he was a postdoctoral researcher in architecture at Tsinghua University, where he was engaged in the comparative study of modern architectural development under the guidance of Academician Guan Zhaoye and Prof. Hu Shaoxue. The scope of his research has covered the history and theory of modern architecture in Europe and America, the study of modern architecture in China, the historical study of modern architectural development in Japan, and the comparative study of the development of modern architecture in Asia.

Mainly Xinhua Feng Building in Beijing (designed in 1996), Wenzhou Hui Yandang Mountain Sports, Culture and Entertainment Center (designed in 1997), Yunnan Nature Museum (first prize winning bid, designed in 1997), Tsinghua University Yifu Technology and Science Building (completed in 1998), Commercial Street Project of Kaiyuan Road and Jingzhong Road in Economic Development Zone of Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province (first prize winning bid, designed in 1998).

Shuangnan Plaza, Chengdu (first prize winning bid, designed in 1998), Beijing Capital International Airport Sports Activity Complex (first prize winning implementation case completed in 2000), Beijing Capital International Airport Hotel Expansion Project (first prize winning implementation case started construction in 2000), and Beijing Fenglin Oasis Residential Project (400,000 square meters, started construction in 2000).
