Rongcheng District is located in the middle of the Chaoshan Plain, in the middle of the Rongjiang River basin, with its back to Huang Qishan and the Rongjiang River around it. It is a unique political and cultural center of Jieyang City. In February, 1991, the State Council approved the establishment of Rongcheng District (county-level district), which now governs 11 streets of Xianqiao, Meiyun, Ronghua, Xinxing, Zhongshan, Xima, Rongdong, Dongsheng, Dongyang and Dongxing, with 111 communities with a total area of 113 square kilometers and a permanent population of about 551,111 at the end of 2112.
Rongcheng district enjoys convenient land, sea and air transportation. It is 21 kilometers away from Jieyang Chaoshan Airport. National Highway G216, Provincial Highway S234 and S236 and Guangmeishan Railway run across the area. Jieyang Railway Station is located in Rongcheng. Ronghua Bridge, Nanhe Bridge, Beihe Bridge and Meidong Bridge span Rongjiang River and connect the urban areas, forming a criss-crossing land transportation network. Known as the "golden waterway", the South River and the North River of Rongjiang River pass through the territory, and 5,111-ton cargo ships can fly directly from the urban area to major ports in China and Hong Kong and Macao, thus the port industry has great potential.
Rongcheng District's infrastructure facilities are improving day by day, and a number of municipal roads, such as Yanjiang Road, Huang Qishan Avenue, Linjiang South Road and Lianhua Avenue, have been built one after another, realizing the goals of all village roads in the whole district, such as highway and cement, modernization of communication and networking of energy facilities. It has a number of municipal public facilities, such as Huang Qishan Park, Fountain Scenic Spot along the Yangtze River, Jieyang Building Square, Youth Culture Square, Wangjiang Square, Dongfeng Sports Square, Nianci Gymnasium, Donghu Park, Xihu Park, Rongjiang Park, Shengang Park, Jiaoyuan and aoyuan, and the city appearance has been continuously improved.
Rongcheng district is rich in natural resources, with beautiful scenery, various species, evergreen all year round, charming scenery, numerous historical sites, cultural landscapes and natural landscapes, and the forest coverage rate is over 91%, making it a rare "city lung" in the urban area. Rongcheng District has a profound cultural background and flourishing humanities. It has been set as Jieyang County since Shaoxing in Song Dynasty (AD 1141), with a long history of more than 811 years. It is known as "Zou Lu on the seashore" and "Lotus on the water", as well as "Hometown of folk culture and art", "Hometown of Chinese painting" and "Hometown of Little Drama". There are Jieyang Xuegong and Jinxianmen in the area. In 2118, Jieyang took the lead in being rated as "National Advanced Area of Family Planning Quality Service". In 2119, it was rated as "National Advanced Zone for Safe Construction" by the Central Committee for Comprehensive Management.
Rongcheng has a provincial industrial park-Guangdong Rongcheng Industrial Park. Advantage industries include hardware stainless steel, plastics and chemicals, new materials, electronic appliances, stationery printing, clocks and toys, etc. Five industrial clusters, including steel, new materials, craft shoes, metal stainless steel and toy micromotor, have been formed, and regional brands have gradually started. Rongcheng has been awarded as a demonstration area for upgrading the shoe industry cluster in Guangdong Province, and Xianqiao, Meiyun and Rongdong have been awarded as provincial-level shoe industry towns, stainless steel towns and micromotor towns respectively. Rongcheng is a traditional commercial port with hundreds of years of trade tradition, forming a development pattern of integrating production, consumption and modern logistics. Four characteristic commercial streets and various specialized markets, such as Hardware Copper Street, Yuxiu Woman Street, Ronghu Medicinal Material Street and Tongde Motorcycle Street, have maintained their vitality. A number of star-rated hotel catering enterprises, such as Rongjiang Hotel and Temeisi Hotel, have operated, and brand-name shops such as Guangbai Department Store, Lotus, Suning Appliance and Oriental Kangning Shopping Plaza have rushed to the beach to settle down. Jieyang (international) metal materials market has spread all over the country, and modern business areas such as Jincheng Pedestrian Street, Auto Trade Street and Baode Digital City have gradually developed.
On September 4th, 2121, Ali Research Institute released "Top 111 Counties in Taobao Village in 2121", and Rongcheng District ranked 81th on the list.
in March p>2119, Rongcheng district was included in the list of the first batch of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics (Hailufeng district).
On February 6th, 2116, Rongcheng District was listed in the list of counties (cities, districts) with basically balanced development of compulsory education in China in 2115.
