As of the end of 2019, Hebei Province had a resident population of 75,919,700.

Located in the North China Plain, Hebei is bordered by the Bohai Sea in the east, the Taihang Mountains in the west, and the Yanshan Mountains in the north, with two major water systems, the Dihai River and the Luan River. It is the eastern part of China's U.S. economy, east-west direction is a bridge connecting the western region and the coastal areas, north-south direction is to connect the northeast region with central and eastern China's transportation throat. The provincial capital of Shijiazhuang is an important transportation hub, Tangshan is also an important coastal port city in the north, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei city cluster vice center. In April 2017, the Central Committee of China *** and the State Council decided to set up the bear a new area, Hebei Province, to turn the four counties and one city belonging to Baoding and Cangzhou into a Beijing sub-center.

2. GDP growth in Hebei Province

In 2020, the gross domestic product of Hebei Province reached 3,620.69 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 388.01 billion yuan, an increase of 3.2%; the added value of secondary industry is 1,359.72 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8%; and the added value of tertiary industry is 1,872.96 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3%. In the 2020 GDP ranking of the country's 31 provinces and municipalities, Hebei Province ranked 12th, with the total output value and GDP growth rate exceeding that of the capital city, Beijing, which is a 3-trillion-dollar club. Of course, there is a gap between per capita GDP and Beijing, but as the cradle s development of Beijing, the overall development of Hebei Province will not be too bad.

3. 11 cities in Hebei Province, the current state of development

As of June 2020, Hebei Province **** there are 11 prefecture-level cities, of which 49 municipal districts, 21 county-level cities, 91 counties, 6 autonomous counties.

Each city in Hebei has a large population and a certain level of GDP. But GDP per capita shows that, with the exception of Tangshan, all the cities, including the provincial capital Shijiazhuang, are below 10,000 U.S. dollars per capita, which is below China's average. Although Langfang is sandwiched between Beijing and Tianjin, its GDP per capita is just over $9,000.

Tangshan, the city of steel, is now the leading city in Hebei with a GDP of more than 700 billion yuan, ranking first in the province in both total and per capita GDP. Shijiazhuang, the provincial capital, has a total of nearly 600 billion yuan

In 2017, the country established the Millennium Plan Bear a new field. For its intention, different people put forward their own views from different angles. It is worth pointing out that the Bear a new area, that is, Xiongxian, Anxin and Rongcheng, to which Baoding belongs, were originally three of the most common counties, no different from other counties in Hebei and even in the country. Millennium Plan these three common counties is precisely to explore the new development mode of common areas, to provide a model for other vast counties.

Per capita, the ranking order of cities in Hebei province is Tangshan, Langfang, Shijiazhuang, Qinhuangdao, Cangzhou, Chengde, Handan, Zhangjiakou, Baoding, Hengshui and Xingtai.

As a populous province with a resident population of 75 million, Hebei is divided into only 11 prefecture-level cities. Not surprisingly, Hebei's overall level of development is significantly influenced by the vast number of counties and towns. Hebei has nearly 100 counties under its jurisdiction, each with a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The so-called specialty industry in many counties and even townships is a large group of small factories of the same type. The small factories in some areas have formed a cluster effect. Through resource integration and technological upgrading, new types of enterprises can be hatched to attack the upper middle class and gain further profits.
