We advocate using the value created by enterprises and the income created to reward them.

Dong Mingzhu: I think enterprises need such a soul figure at every stage. The soul figure is not single, but also a team. I am a challenging person, and my team should also have this challenging spirit.

Dong Mingzhu: Yes.

China Newsweek: For young people like Meng Yutong, what message do you have for the post-91s generation?

Dong Mingzhu: In Gree, there are many children born after 1991s, and now there are tens of thousands of them. From what I can see face to face, I feel that they all have a kind of vitality. Dong Mingzhu: If I really want to choose, I like NPC deputies (identities) best. Dong Mingzhu: It's also experience. I started as an ordinary salesman. At that time, I thought it was very simple, that is, I would do a good job in sales all my life, do my job to the extreme, do the best in sales, and do my job as perfectly as possible.

Dong Mingzhu: Actually, I think it is necessary to be an upright person. From the 18th to 19th National Congress, (the relationship between politics and business) has been gradually changing, and we feel deeply. Gree Electric was created by the market, with the greatest support from Zhuhai government. It did not interfere in the market operation, and gave full play to the role of enterprises, relying on technology development and marketing channels to complete the whole development of Gree.

Today, we have many contacts with the government and many cooperation with government departments, from which we have seen many changes. I dare not say that there is no corruption now, but at least it is much better. In the past two years, the central and local governments have come to help enterprises, and ministries and provinces often come to investigate and ask us what difficulties we have and help us solve them. In the past, we must find relationships when we encounter difficulties. Now you can solve the problems in time.

China Newsweek: Do you have anything to add about the relationship between politics and business?

Dong Mingzhu: At present, the central and local governments are supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and great efforts have been made in financial allocation, tax reduction and exemption, subsidies and so on. More importantly, how to make small and medium-sized enterprises make their own blood and have a good environment for competition, rather than simply using money to solve it.
