Guang Ningxian is located in the middle and west of Zhaoqing City, the middle reaches of Suijiang River, a tributary of Beijiang River. It is adjacent to Sihui City and Qingxin County in Qingyuan City in the east, Gaoyao District and Deqing County in the south, Huaiji County in the west and Yangshan County in Qingyuan City in the north. It is a key old district and county, and the earliest and longest revolutionary old district in Xijiang area. It is also the "hometown of bamboo" and "hometown of martial arts" in China.

At the same time, Guang Ningxian is also the best green ecological county, green demonstration county, catering service and food safety demonstration county, culturally advanced county, new rural construction demonstration county and forestry pulp and paper industry demonstration county in China. It is a key forest area in Guangdong Province, the first batch of forestry ecological counties and a modern forestry development demonstration county in the Pearl River Delta. It has a provincial paper industry base and the only national bamboo forest park in the province.

Guang Ningxian is a typical mountainous county with "eight mountains, one water and one field", with a forest coverage rate of 83%. Among them, Guanglvyu, produced in the southwest of Guangning, is one of the five famous stones in China. In 2007, Guanglv Jade Carving was listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list, and Guangning Guanglv Jade 20 13 was protected by national geographical indication products.
