Guide to face-to-face assessment skills
You may think that "gold always shines". As long as your ability is achieved, promotion is a matter of course. After all, the judges' eyes are discerning and experienced, and they can naturally see your brilliance. However, this is not the case in reality. Your ability is not strong, which may not be so obvious in the eyes of the judges. Because they simply don't have enough time and energy to examine you comprehensively, they can only judge you by less than 1 hour.
The so-called "face-to-face evaluation" is the face-to-face communication in the evaluation stage, including writing PPT (preliminary material preparation), speaking PPT (promotion self-report) and answering questions (answering questions from judges). You need to introduce evidence, answer questions and prove to the judges that you have reached the target level.
It can be said that your interview performance largely determines your promotion results. The promotion of PPT occupies a very important position in face-to-face evaluation. This time, let's talk about how to write a good PPT promotion to conquer the judges!
Common misunderstandings in PPT promotion
Promoting PPT is the key material you use to show your ability to the judges. However, according to my observation, many people often fall into some misunderstandings when preparing for PPT promotion.
Myth1:The cooler PPT promotion, the better.
In fact, the beauty and coolness of PPT is not the key, and sometimes it will become a burden, because the judges may think that your PPT "is not enough in content, and the forms are together."
Myth 2: The more things you can do to promote PPT, the better.
Some people will list all the things they have done and introduce them one by one when summing up their abilities. The judge can't judge which abilities are his core abilities, which creates a feeling that he knows everything but can't do anything.
Myth 3: The more detailed the content of promoting PPT, the better.
From the judge's point of view, the content of PPT is too detailed, and it is difficult to grasp the key points whether watching your PPT or listening to you directly.
Good promotion PPT in the eyes of judges
Now, we have understood the common misunderstandings of PPT promotion, but only understanding the misunderstandings is not enough to write a good PPT. You must have a clear measurable standard. So in the eyes of the judges, what is a good promotion of PPT?
1, with clear structure
For example, use the golden pyramid principle or mind map to explain the train of thought, use the timeline model to explain the development process, use the architecture diagram to explain the system, and use the flowchart to explain the business.
Step 2 focus on the key points
On PPT, refine the core content to 3~5 points, so that the judges can quickly understand your content range.
3. Consistent with the actual content
What you want to say, PPT will cooperate with you, and the most taboo is that what you say does not match the content of PPT.
Extended standard PPT framework
A standard promotional PPT should consist of three parts:
Part I: Self-introduction.
The self-introduction on page 1~2 includes three contents: 1, basic information, that is, your name, team and business, current level, and the level of promotion application. 2. Your current responsibilities are your main responsibilities at present, such as what business you are involved in or responsible for, whether you lead a team, how big the team is, and what key positions you hold. Work experience is where you have been before and what important projects you have done.
Part II: Self-report materials
10~ 15 pages of self-report materials are used to show the judges their abilities. The overall writing guiding ideology of the readme materials is gold and pyramid principles. Around the 1 central theme of "I have reached the requirements of grade xx". Design 3~5 core arguments, each of which is divided into four parts: background, task, action and result. The whole structure is like a pyramid, with a clear center, distinct levels and clear logic.
Part III: Auxiliary Materials
The auxiliary contents of 1~3 pages include two parts:
1. Summarize yourself in the form of competency matrix or box, refine and summarize your core competencies, and give the judges an overall impression. 2. The development plan combines its own development goals, business development trends and its own shortcomings. , set a comprehensive development direction and path.
It should be noted that the list must be a shortcoming that you want to know clearly. You can't just write a few numbers and list the shortcomings, because the judges may really ask questions about this part. Another thing to note is that your lack of ability is not the core requirement of the target level, but a higher requirement, otherwise you will hit yourself in the face.
Failure is reserved for those who don't persist.
