The State Council officially announced the fourth batch of "National List of Precious Ancient Books" and the list of "National Key Protection Units of Ancient Books". 15 16 ancient books, such as the Northern Song Dynasty rubbings of Shanghai Library, the Southern Song Dynasty Annotations of Xuzhou Library, and Pu Songling's manuscripts of He Xuan Bi Za of Qingdao Museum, were selected in this catalogue. 16 ancient books, such as the Library of Renmin University of China, Zhejiang Xiling Printing Press and Xizang Autonomous Region Potala Palace, were selected.
The fourth batch of national precious ancient books list includes 12 18 ancient books of China, 286 ancient books of ethnic minorities, 9 other ancient books and 3 kinds of Oracle Bone Inscriptions. This is the first time that Oracle Bone Inscriptions has entered the catalogue. The catalogue includes Song and Yuan rubbings 7 1, Ming and Qing manuscripts 76 and manuscripts 177. There are 43 kinds of maps, among which the map of the Western Han Dynasty unearthed in Fangmatan, Tianshui, Gansu Province is the earliest known paper map in the world, the earliest paper object used for writing in the world, and a powerful proof of the invention of papermaking in the early Western Han Dynasty. Ancient books in ethnic languages include Tibetan, Uygur, Xixia, Mongolian, Chahetai, Yi, Manchu, Dongba, Dai, Hydrology, Guzhuang, Buyi and other ethnic languages 12.
Among them, The Interpretation of Quantity, a Yuan-engraved edition collected by Tibet Museum, is the second Yuan-engraved Tibetan ancient book discovered after The Right Way to Hide Because of Ming Dynasty. The discovery of these two Yuan block prints overthrew the old saying that there was no Tibetan literature published in Yuan Dynasty and no Tibetan printed matter before Ming Dynasty.
Among the 16 "National Key Protection Units of Ancient Books" announced this time, five are religious and ethnic minority units, including Songshan Shaolin Temple, Tibet Museum, Potala Palace in Xizang Autonomous Region, Norbulingka in Xizang Autonomous Region and Xizang Autonomous Region Archives.
