Article 45 The State establishes a food traceability system. The food and drug supervision and administration department of the State Council shall, jointly with the administrative department of agriculture of the State Council and other relevant departments, establish a whole-course traceability cooperation mechanism for food and edible agricultural products.

Food production and marketing enterprises shall establish a food traceability system in accordance with the provisions of this law to ensure the traceability of food. Encourage food production and marketing enterprises to establish food traceability system by means of information technology.
