On July 17, 2009, staff at Cardiff International Airport in Wales, England, detained Russian Miss World 2008 Kosia Susinov (Ksenia Sukhinova) on suspicion of being a terrorist. Russian media said it was a case of British airport staff being too bored and just looking for an excuse to admire a beautiful Russian woman. 21-year-old Cosia Susinov was detained on arrival at Cardiff airport by airport staff who suspected Cosia of carrying dangerous items in the carry-on bag she had with her. Cosia said her bag was checked for almost an hour as if she were a terrorist. Afterward, no staff member was available to explain the situation to Coscia. Cosia was traveling as a guest of honor at the Miss Wales competition.

Russian media said the British airport staff were so bored that they wanted to take the opportunity to see what was in the Russian beauty's handbag.
