Terminal 2 serves both domestic and international flights. A portion of the airline flights at Terminal 2 were relocated to Terminal 3 in two phases on February 29 and March 26, 2008, after the opening of Terminal 3 at Beijing Capital International Airport.

Terminal 3 has a total floor area of 986,000 square meters and is divided into three functional zones, T3-C, T3-D and T3-E. T3-C is used for domestic, international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan flights. T3-C area is used for domestic and international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan flight procedures, domestic departures and domestic and international baggage claim, T3-D area is used for a small portion of Air China's domestic departures and arrivals (most of which are in T3-C area), and T3-E area is used for international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan departures and arrivals.
