When I entered and exited the dining hall, there were so many trash cans in the place where tableware was recycled, which were full of leftovers. At that moment, my heart seemed to be touched.
On the table where the tableware is collected, there are dishes that the aunts haven't cleaned up. Some bowls or plates still have about two-thirds of the food. Some of them are just scraping, not eating a few mouthfuls, and some of them have a few mouthfuls left in the bowl.
I remember when I saw a survey on China's grain problem. In recent years, the amount of grain imported by China has soared. From October to October, 2114, China imported 72.5 million tons of grain, almost equivalent to the whole year of 2113. On the other hand, China wastes about half of its food imports every year, which is 35 million tons, or more than 71 billion Jin.
On the one hand, it is a lot of imports, and on the other hand, it is a lot of waste. Zheng Chuguang, a member of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, has made a calculation: Chinese consumers only dump at least about 211 million people's food or rations in restaurants with medium-sized or above every year; All kinds of schools and collective canteens above the designated size in China dump at least 31 million people's food every year; Individuals and families in China may waste about 11 billion Jin of grain every year, which is equivalent to the annual rations of 15 million people. Aside from other wastes, we can see how much food is wasted on the dining table from these data.
In this case, there are many investigation reports on food waste in college canteens. After reading several investigation and analysis reports, I found that nearly 91% of students have had the experience of leftovers, that is, 91% have wasted food; More than 71% students think that the canteen food tastes bad and is not delicious, which wastes food; There are 11% students who have no guilt about wasting food, and half of them have a strong sense of guilt; Some students think that improving the taste of meals in canteens can minimize food waste; Half of the students think that cooking should be based on food intake to better reduce food waste; There are also some girls who can't eat too much because of losing weight, so there are many leftovers, and some people are habitual leftovers.
The uncles and aunts in the canteen say that at least six or seven barrels of leftovers are transported away every day. It makes people feel dumb to imagine so much waste every day. I once heard a classmate confidently say that the rice I bought myself was wasted if I wanted to. I really couldn't help but want to swear, and waste should be so justified.
As soon as we were young, we began to learn "Compassion for Farmers". "When weeding is noon, sweat drops down the soil. Who knows that Chinese food on the plate is hard. " We have been influenced by this poem since we were so young, and maybe some people can't understand it without personally understanding it.
In the hot summer, under the scorching sun, I was cutting wheat in the field, and my sweat kept on, which made me dizzy, but I had to do it patiently. Probably everyone who has experienced this situation knows that food is hard to come by.
I am glad that I have experienced this experience since I was a child, and I have developed the habit of eating without leftovers under my father's guidance. If nothing else, I have experienced the hard work of "sweating rice" for myself, and I understand that the shortage of food in China requires everyone to do their part together.
