Yueyang Tower

Tengwang Pavilion

One of the four famous buildings in China. Located on the Ganjiang River in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. In the 4th year of Tang Yonghui (653), it was built by Emperor Gaozuzi Teng Li Yuanying when he was governor of Hongzhou, and it was named after the title. In the second year of Shang Yuan (675), Yan Bowen, the governor of Hongzhou, gave a big banquet here, and Wang Bo improvised the Preface to Tengwang Pavilion, which became a famous article that was read down through the ages. Tengwang Pavilion lasted more than 1,311 years, and was destroyed and built repeatedly. In 1926, it was burned down by Beiyang warlord Deng Ruzhuo. And then rebuilt.

Yellow Crane Tower

One of the four famous buildings in China. The building is located in Huangli Jitou, Sheshan, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. According to legend, it was built in the second year of Wu Huangwu in the Three Kingdoms (223). It was destroyed and built repeatedly in previous dynasties, and it was burned for the last time in 1884. Celebrities of past dynasties such as Cui Hao, Li Bai, Bai Juyi and Lu You all wrote poems. In 1985, it was rebuilt on the Gaoguan mountain west slope of Sheshan Mountain. The building is five stories high (ten stories with mezzanine) and 51.4 meters high. The main building has a construction area of about 4,111 square meters. It has a national style and is an antique building with reinforced concrete structure.

Four ancient academies in China

Bailudong Academy: It is in the valley under Wulaofeng Mountain in Lushan Mountain, Jiangxi Province. In the Tang Dynasty, Li Bo, who liked to raise white deer for his own entertainment, built a platform in his seclusion site during his tenure as Jiangzhou secretariat, which was called Bailudong. In the early Song Dynasty, it was expanded into an academy, and it was abolished repeatedly. Zhu Xi, Lu Xiangshan, Wang Yangming and others all built or gave lectures here. The existing buildings were built in the light years of the Qing Dynasty, among which there are more than 111 pieces of spleen in the stele gallery, engraved with the rules of Zhu Xi's hand-made academy, and the records of previous constructions and celebrity calligraphy.

Yuelu Academy: It is at the foot of Yuelu Mountain in Hunan Province. In the ninth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty, Tanzhou Taishou Zhudong was founded, and in the second year of Tianxi, Zhenzong granted the "Yuelu Academy". The existing buildings were built in the Qing Dynasty, and there are four-character stone carvings of Zhu Xi's "Loyalty, Filial Piety and Honesty".

Shigu Academy: It is located in Shigu Mountain in the north of Hengyang City, Hunan Province. Tang Ming Li Kuan built a residence to study here, and an academy was established in the third year of Song Zhidao. Liu Zongyuan, Han Yu, Fan Chengda, Zhu Xi, Zhang Zai, Wen Tianxiang, Xu Xiake and Wang Fuzhi all visited or gave lectures here. Today, cultural relics such as inscriptions on Ming and Qing dynasties have been turned into parks.

Yingtianfu Academy: The original site is in Shangqiu County, Henan Province. The hospital site belongs to the jurisdiction of Yingtianfu, so it is named. It should be called Suiyang Academy. Originally, it was the place where Qi Tongwen gave lectures. In the second year of Song Zhenzong Dazhong Xiangfu, Cao Cheng built 51 silkworm houses and collected more than 1,511 books to recruit students. Fan Zhongyan once taught here. Since the Five Dynasties, the hospital site has been abandoned.
