Where is the best city to live in China?
What city in China can be considered the "best city"? It's a matter of opinion, and many people can't help but list their own hometowns, which is exactly what the saying goes, "Who doesn't say their hometown is good? It's hard to say whether it's "good" or not. There are different standards, different opinions, and different answers, but the key is to determine a standard for judging first. I have been working for eight years, traveling all over China's large and medium-sized cities (not bragging, more than 100 prefecture-level cities), but also a little bit of feeling, write it out for everyone to see if it's right. I think a city is good, I think it can be seen from these aspects: climate, living environment, amenities, cost of living, transportation, security, career development potential, income level, human environment, food and entertainment, and so on. In terms of climate, most of the northern part of China (north of the Huaihe River) is not very good, mainly due to either severe cold winters (in the Northeast), drought and lack of water, and sandstorms in winter and spring. I personally experienced one when I was in Beijing in '99, it was really scary, and I was looking at the sand later. And the cities in the Jianghuai basin are also very cold in winter (no heating), very sad. So as far as the climate is concerned, the cities in the south are more pleasant, not cold in winter, and not very hot in summer due to the subtropical high pressure moving north. I feel that Xiamen and Zhuhai have the best climate in China. Among other coastal cities, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo are too cold in winter. Qingdao, Dalian, although there is heating, but the winter is too humid, outdoor cold. Among the inland cities, Chengdu has a better climate. The climate in Kunming is good, but due to its location on the plateau, it is too dry, which is very unfavorable to human skin. In terms of living environment, big cities are usually inferior to small and medium-sized cities. The spacing between buildings in big cities is very small due to expensive land prices, which limits the comfort of living, and the degree of greening in big cities is usually low, not as good as in small and medium-sized cities, not to mention a few famous garden cities in China. Air pollution in inland cities is very serious, including Wuhan, Xi'an, Chengdu, etc. When there is no strong wind, the sky is always gray, and there is no blue sky with white clouds. Personally, I think Hangzhou, Zhuhai, Foshan and Xiamen have the best living environment in China. In terms of living facilities, big cities are generally better than small and medium-sized cities. The cities in the Yangtze River Delta have the most formal and complete living facilities, and I personally think that Shanghai should be considered the best in the country. Guangzhou, Shenzhen living facilities are also very complete, but the degree of formality is poor, more fraud (store). Inland and northern cities in this area there is more room for growth, there are many business opportunities in this area. Cost of living, of course, is the small city of low cost of living. From a regional point of view, the cost of living in the Yangtze River Delta is the highest in the country, mainly because of the high cost of housing, Shanghai, needless to say, the country's top, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Suzhou, housing prices are also very high, raising the overall cost of living. The cost of food and clothing is basically the same in the big coastal cities, and lower in the inland cities. The cost of traveling to Shenzhen and Shanghai is very high, mainly referring to cab prices, buses are not too much difference. It is worth noting that although the starting price of cabs in Wuhan is low, due to the size of the city, the actual cost is not low, and is considered to be higher in inland cities. In terms of transportation, overall the big cities are very bad, traffic jams are about the same, Beijing and Shanghai are especially bad. In Beijing, even if you have a private car, traffic is still a big problem, and the second and third ring roads are nothing more than open-air parking lots; the same goes for Shanghai's inner ring road. The inner ring of Shanghai is the same. Shenzhen and Guangzhou are slightly better. Small and medium-sized cities in the past two years with the popularity of private cars have also begun to fall into the trouble of traffic jams. However, some cities have a low level of traffic management is also an important reason for traffic jams, such as Kunming, the city is not big, the car is not much, but the traffic jam is very bad, that is, the management level of the reason is low. Speaking of private cars, by the way, Shanghai's private car license plate has been an auction, although the law enforcement officers illegal, but also really in China's helpless move, I heard that Beijing seems to learn from Shanghai, I do not know whether it is true or not, anyway, I am in this kind of temporary residence is absolutely not buy a car. Law and order: Shanghai! Definitely the second best in China, after Hong Kong. When I traveled in many cities, I met people who kindly advised me not to go out alone at night to avoid accidents. In Shanghai, no matter how late at night you go out alone, you will be fine. Some cities in the Yangtze River Delta are also very safe, such as Hangzhou and Suzhou. The security in Guangdong is not so good, and Beijing is not so good, although there are a lot of police. Career potential: Shenzhen and Shanghai. Both have their own unique characteristics: Shanghai is more suitable for people who are on track, white-collar - gold-collar - executives or self-employed entrepreneurs; Shenzhen is more suitable for those who want to leapfrog the development of the company's white-collar - self-employed entrepreneurs. However, these two years always feel that Shenzhen's policy advantage is getting smaller and smaller, and the lack of humanistic heritage caused by the obstacles are getting bigger and bigger, mainly in the government's ruling level is very low, the original strong policy advantage as a complementary can be stronger than Shanghai, now may have been reversed. Shanghai's problem is that the cost of living is too high, even if working, if you start a business, the cost of starting a business has been pulled up a lot. In the future, Ningbo, Suzhou and Wuxi in the Yangtze River Delta, Tianjin and Dalian in the Bohai Bay, and Xi'an and Chengdu in the interior of the country are all places with great potential for career development. Shenzhen is the only place in the Pearl River Delta, while the others are a bit worse. Income level: Shenzhen is the highest! There is no doubt about it. Here refers to the per capita income level, rather than which person, if we talk about personal words, Xinjiang Tang brothers, Dalian's Yang Bin, are higher than the altar and 99.99% of Beijing and Shanghai! Shenzhen is the highest because of its demographic structure, the vast majority of immigrants in that city are young people, of course, high. To say that the average income level of white-collar workers, I personally think that Shanghai is higher, because Shanghai's white-collar workers from the number of people to be more, the overall quality does not have to be worse than Beijing, stronger than Shenzhen. Coupled with Shanghai's consistently higher salary levels, resulting in the current results. Human environment: Beijing is much stronger than Shanghai and Shenzhen. But I personally think that Xi'an is better than Beijing in terms of cultural tradition. Beijing's cultural heritage is very deep, but it is mixed with a lot of decadent, downtrodden Manchu atmosphere; while Xi'an really embodies the majestic Han Chinese culture. Dining and Entertainment: Personally, I would recommend Chengdu the most! Although the food in Chengdu is not so refined, Chengdu is definitely a good place for entertainment and leisure, perhaps too leisure, so where people are more lazy, nourishing but not nurturing. However, I like it and will come there to retire!
