Brief introduction of Shangfangshan National Forest Park
Shangfangshan National Forest Park, located about 5 kilometers southwest of Suzhou, is the core scenic spot of Shihu Lake. Here are beautiful mountains and rivers, idyllic scenery in the south of the Yangtze River, cherry blossom viewing and numerous historical sites, which are worth seeing.
Every year from late March to early May, the "Hundred Flowers Festival" will be held here, and all kinds of flowers, birds, fish and insects will be exhibited here. In early spring, there is a sea of cherry blossoms on the side. At this time, local citizens often set up tents on the big lawn of the garden to enjoy flowers, or enjoy fun and delicious food in the barbecue area. But by the end of April, the cherry blossoms had basically withered.
The whole scenic spot is mainly composed of Fangshan, sightseeing orchard and forest recreation area. The open-air "Golden Buddha" on Fangshan Mountain is very eye-catching, but the ropeway leading to the Golden Buddha has been closed, and visitors can climb stairs along the path. The altitude is only 92 meters, so hiking should be an exercise.
Lingcangue Tower in Song Dynasty is the landmark and the highest point of the square, and there are other historical sites such as Zhiping Temple, Shihu Caotang and Gan Long Imperial Road. In addition, there are peacock gardens, various botanical gardens, and special expansion and barbecue sites.
