The name of the Games "202 1 3rd Asian Youth Games" and the emblem remain unchanged.
On May 6th, the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou and the 20021Chengdu Universiade were officially postponed, and the new dates will be announced after consultation, while the 20021Shantou Asian Youth Games, which had been postponed once before, was directly cancelled.
The bidding process of Asian Youth Games
The 3rd Asian Youth Games was originally scheduled to be held in Hambantota, Sri Lanka in 20 17. However, due to funding and venue construction problems, Sri Lanka announced that it would give up hosting the Asian Youth Games. Jakarta, Indonesia took over the hosting of the Asian Youth Games, but Indonesia later gave up hosting it for various reasons. The OCA therefore announced the cancellation of the plan to hold the Asian Youth Games in 20 17, and the next Asian Youth Games will be held in 20021year.
20 19 On March 3rd, the 38th General Assembly of the OCA was held in Bangkok, Thailand. China sent a bid delegation led by Wang Yuping, Mai Liang and Lin Yimin to make a bid presentation. As there is no competitor, Shantou, as the only bidding city, successfully won the right to host the 3rd Asian Youth Games.
