In the 9th century, it was the center of the gold rush in the United States. In the early days, Chinese laborers moved to the United States and lived here, which was called "Golden Mountain". San Francisco gradually developed into a financial center on the west coast of the United States during the gold rush in California in the mid-19th century. Montgomery Street in the financial and business district is sometimes called "Wall Street of the West". On this street, there are the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and the former site of the Pacific Stock Exchange.
