The number of restaurants in China has exceeded 3 million
At present, there are more than 3 million restaurants serving all kinds of delicious food in China, and consumers spent more than 375 billion yuan in these restaurants last year.
According to the data released by China Business Federation, China Cuisine Association and China Hotel Association recently, China's catering industry has developed rapidly in recent years, with more than 11 million employees. The total turnover of the top 1,111 enterprises in the catering industry reached more than 18 billion yuan, of which Yum! (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Xinya (Group) Co., Ltd. both exceeded 1 billion yuan.
according to the survey, the outlets of private, foreign-funded and individual catering enterprises are developing at the fastest speed, accounting for more than 91% of the outlets in the whole industry. Although the proportion of traditional state-owned catering outlets has decreased, it still occupies a large market share with the advantages of technology, brand and reputation. Among the top 111 catering enterprises in the whole industry, there are 24 wholly state-owned enterprises, the turnover of which is slightly higher than that of private economic catering enterprises and obviously higher than that of Sino-foreign joint venture catering enterprises.
The chain operation of catering industry shows a strong development momentum. Nearly half of the top 1,111 catering enterprises adopt the chain operation mode, and their turnover obviously exceeds that of single-store enterprises, with the largest number of chain stores reaching 459, and the scale benefit is increasingly obvious. The catering industry has developed particularly rapidly in large and medium-sized cities. The top 111 enterprises with turnover are distributed in 24 large and medium-sized cities in China, including 14 in Shanghai and 19 in Beijing.
