The University of Warwick has over 20 food and drink outlets dotted around the campus, with restaurants, bars and cafes, so whether you're looking for a nutritious breakfast, a hearty lunch or dinner, or a pastry and a drink, you'll be able to get it all. And with your Warwick Card, you'll get discounts on many of the places you eat on campus, so it's a great deal. Come along and see what's on offer at our on-campus dining hubs.

Introducing the Warwick Card

After enrolment, every student needs to apply for a Warwick Card, which is a student card with your personal details and a photo, which can be topped up with money to be used as a meal card, with a minimum of £10 and a maximum of £100. You can top up your card at the machines in Roots Social Building or at the Student Reception in Senate House. Once topped up, the Warwick Card can be used in most restaurants, cafes and bars on campus. Simply present your Warwick Card at the checkout and you will receive a 10% discount on your purchase, which will be deducted directly from your card. The card can also be used at Costcutter supermarkets and the University Bookshop on campus, but there are no discounts. The stores on campus where you can use your Warwick Card are shown below:

Students' Union

Introduction: Warwick SU independently operates five food and drink outlets on campus, all of which offer a wide range of food and drink at low prices, and have been voted by students as the best places to eat on campus. They are rated by students as the best places to eat on campus. The following four restaurants offer a 10 percent discount when you pay with your Warwick Card.

◆ The Dirty Duck: Burgers, barbecue, pasta, desserts and bar snacks are available for a limited time from 12pm to 9pm every day, with a burger and a drink for just £6, with a wide range of flavors to choose from. Add another £1 to any food purchase and you can exchange it for a Sprite, Coke or Lemonade. With The NUS Extra card, you can get two free ice creams with the purchase of two mains, and chips or nuts with the purchase of two pints of beer or cider.The Dirty Duck also hosts different themed events every Tuesday to Friday evening to entertain students. Un-plucked Acoustic night and Quackstar Karaoke. Affordable prices and great deals coupled with a wide range of after-school activities attract many students to patronize the restaurant.

◆ The Bread Oven: Located on the first floor of the Student Union, this restaurant serves freshly baked French bread, salads and hot snacks. The Bread Oven has a unique way of eating bread, with fillings such as chicken, ham, fish, vegetables and cheese, so you can choose your own toppings to add to the bread when ordering, or ask for more cheese if you have The NUS Extra card. The Bread Oven is only open from Monday to Friday at lunchtime, and attracts many students every day, with long waiting lines at peak times.

◆ Curiositea: This is a casual little store specializing in pastries, muffins, and hot and cold drinks. The exquisite pastries make you want to eat them as soon as you look at them, and the hot chocolate here is said to be one of the best in the university. Complimentary toast with the purchase of a hot drink is available daily from 9am-10am, and in the afternoon there is an afternoon tea combo set for £3.50-£8, which allows you to enjoy a wide range of delicious pastries and drinks at the same time. The store is decorated with Alice in Wonderland, which is very appealing to girls, and when the weather is good, you can sit lazily on the outdoor rattan chairs, and it's a good choice to meet up with your friends and have a chat over a cup of tea.

◆ Xanana's: This bistro-style Italian restaurant serves freshly prepared dishes, light meals, and delicious desserts, with daily specials for lunch and dinner. Also, order any two main courses and show your The NUS Extra card for a complimentary side dish. The food is a little more expensive than other restaurants, but the food is quite good.

Note: The NUS Extra card is a discount card that can be used to get discounts or freebies when you shop online, on the high street, or eat at Students' Union. With an annual fee of £12 and a monthly fee of just £1, students at Warwick have a handful of them.

Rootes Social Building

Introduction: The Rootes Social Building is located opposite Students' Union, and is a three-storey building offering a wealth of facilities for students to study. In addition, it is also the location of the hostel management office, where all new students will go to get their hostel keys as the first step of their enrollment. For the convenience of students' study and food, there is a restaurant, a café and a bar inside.

◆ The Bar: The Bar, located right across from Bar Fusion, serves breakfast, bar snacks, and hot and cold drinks, and you can ask a waiter here to help you buy food from Bar Fusion. In addition to the food and drinks you can eat and drink here, more fun for students lies in the sports facilities here. The Bar is the only place on campus where you can watch live broadcasts of sports events, and the bar is also equipped with pool tables, foosball tables, and a variety of trivia games for students to relax and unwind.

◆ Costa Coffee: Costa Coffee is a coffee chain similar to Starbucks, which has more than 1,000 stores in the UK. It offers traditional coffee, cakes, sandwiches and other beverages, all of which are quite tasty, and many students settle there for lunch.

Warwick Arts Centre

Introduction: Warwick Arts Centre is located in the center of the campus, which has a concert hall, theatre, cinema, art gallery, bookstore, and also has a restaurant and two bars on the first floor. Every year, the Arts Center hosts more than 2,000 events, and students who come to the Arts Center to watch a telethon, play or music performance like to go to the restaurant here before or after the performance to have a meal or a drink.

◆ Le Gusta: The restaurant is decorated in beige tones, fresh and elegant, with a very comfortable dining environment. It mainly serves a variety of Mediterranean-style dishes, with a choice of salads, pizzas, pastas, grills and drinks, with mains priced at an average of £8. It's worth noting that the pizzas are all hand-baked and taste fantastic. Every Monday night from 5pm to 9pm is Mojito Mondays, when Mojito drinks are on offer with a buy-one-get-one-free promotion, so don't miss out if you're a Mojito lover. In addition, there is a special takeaway menu, and the latest booking time is 9pm on 024 7652 2900.

◆ Cafe-Bar: This bar is best known for its tempting cakes and pastries, and also offers a wide range of hot snacks and drinks at more affordable prices than the other restaurants in the Arts Center.

◆ Theater bar: This theater bar serves beer, wine, and a variety of drinks. Reservations can be made in advance to avoid lines at busy times.

Warwick Library

Introduction: The library is located in the center of the campus, and many students like to use the library to study and check out the information after class. There are three restaurants on the first floor of the library, where you can have a cup of coffee or tea to refresh yourself when you are tired of studying, a delicious sandwich when you are hungry, and a variety of freshly baked goods to choose from.

◆ Caf? Library: This place feels like a small cafeteria, offering a variety of flavors for breakfast and lunch, as well as a wide range of hot and cold food, drinks, and snacks, but is closed for dinner.

◆ Library Coffee Caf? & Cafe Bar: These two are focused on sandwiches, pastries and drinks, which can be ordered and brought on the go, making it convenient for students in a hurry, and open on weekends.
