The University of Surrey offers a Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management (BSc International Hospitality Management), which is a three- to four-year program, with the four-year program also including a year of field training. The program's instruction focuses on industry expertise, as well as business and management courses. In addition to providing students with an understanding of the key knowledge and skills of the hospitality industry, the school also provides students with on-site learning and work experience in the food service industry at its restaurants.
In the first year of study, students will focus on an overview of the hospitality industry, the products and services offered by the industry, as well as their characteristics, markets and customers. In the following years of study, students will learn how to be a manager in the hospitality industry in a hands-on environment. Controlling and managing the preparation and processing of food, service techniques and processes in the food and beverage industry, and how to ensure service quality and profitability will be the focus of students' learning.
To ensure that their hotel or restaurant meets the needs of the market, students will also learn how to manage the industry's assets and familiarize themselves with the operations and routes of the industry.

Liverpool John Moores University
Liverpool John Moores University, with its Center for Tourism, Consumer and Food Studies, attracts many students from Singapore and Malaysia every year. The university's MSc Tourism, Development and Policy program focuses on the interrelationships between tourism policy, social development and environmental protection in the tourism industry.
