Maoming Station has a building area of 6,576 square meters, and the waiting hall, VIP room, maternal and child waiting room and ticket office can accommodate 1.5 million people at the same time.
Maoming station building is considered as the north-south station building on both sides of the parking lot. The total scale of the station building is 20,000 square meters, the south station building 1 1000 square meters and the north station building is 9,000 square meters. A new entrance overpass will be built to connect the north and south stations. The general plan of the North-South Railway Station and the approach overpass is Z-shaped, with the design concept of "flowing clouds and flowing water, the new Silk Road".
Maoming Station has two waiting rooms, the first of which is an ordinary railway waiting room, and the second is a bullet train waiting room. Among them, the second waiting room (EMU waiting room) was transformed from the original second waiting room and carriage, with 500 seats. The original second waiting room is 394 square meters after renovation, and the original private room is 490.6 square meters after renovation. Both places are connected by channels, including manual ticket gates and automatic ticket gates.

On the east side is the business district, where there will be 24-hour restaurants and convenience stores. The waiting seats in the two waiting rooms of South Railway Station have all been installed. According to statistics, there are 324 seats in the waiting hall on the first floor. There are 678 seats in the waiting hall on the second floor. In addition to ordinary seats, there are about 300 massage seats for passengers to use.
