Wuding is located in the north-central part of Yunnan Province, more than 70 kilometers away from the main city of Kunming. It is a place that makes people linger. There are not only charming and picturesque scenery all year round, but also mouth-watering food. You can also experience the original Yi customs and participate in colorful and original ethnic festivals.

Speaking of the scenery in Wuding, Lion Mountain, which has the reputation of "the first mountain in the southwest", is located 3 kilometers west of Wuding County. It is located in the middle of Yunnan with beautiful natural scenery and profound Buddhist culture, and the Peony Garden is unique to Yunnan. Lion Mountain is a beautiful place to return to nature, where ancient trees are flying all over the sky, forests cover the sky, cliffs are towering, rocks are rugged, flowers are romantic, birds are singing and flowers are fragrant. It is a key scenic spot in Yunnan Province, and was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction in 2009. The top of the mountain is 24 19.8 meters above sea level, so it is named because it looks like a lying lion. The total area of the scenic spot is 13.6 square kilometers, and there are many historical sites in the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties around it, with dense trees and towering old trees.

Stepping into Lion Mountain, there is a neat and spectacular Buddhist temple in the dense evergreen broad-leaved forest. The Hall of the Great Hero in the temple is magnificent, and the surrounding courtyards are ingeniously laid out, with several Gu Song ancient cypresses growing, which is said to have a history of thousands of years, adding mystery to this ancient temple.

Jian Wendi Ci Ge

Peony, another beautiful scenery in Lion Mountain, is the earliest place in China, and is known as the "Southern Peony Garden". Peony in other places blooms from April to May every year, and peony in Lion Mountain in Wuding has already blossomed before and after the Spring Festival. Peony planting in Lion Mountain in Wuding originated in Ming Dynasty. After the Battle of Jingnan, the Ming Emperor Wen Jian planted a Bai Mudan when he became a monk in Lion Mountain. It lasted more than 600 years, and the flower was as big as a plate. It was rated as "the best peony in China" by CCTV 1988.

Jiyi Rift Valley, also known as Zhong Da Rift Valley, is 23km away from the county seat 10, with a scenic area of about 30 square kilometers and more than10 scenic spots. The Great Rift Valley in East Africa, which is about12km long, is about 200m at its widest point and 6m at its narrowest point. Chickens and dogs on both sides of the rift valley are familiar, but it is difficult to communicate. The deepest part of the rift valley is more than 300 meters, which is bottomless, forming an amazing and strange cliff spectacle.

Shuicheng River Scenic Area in Wuding County has beautiful scenery, winding mountains, beautiful scenery and many scenic spots. The clear river sometimes flows slowly on the wide and hard riverbed, sometimes sings tinklingly, and sometimes flies down. Strange sandstone and native vegetation on both sides of the strait blend together, and waterfalls, strange stones and ancient trees form a beautiful picture of nature, which is like flowing mountains and rivers and has the reputation of Little Jiuzhaigou.

China's food culture is extremely rich, and there are unique cuisines everywhere. In Wuding, wild mushrooms and Wuding chicken have become one of the must-eat foods. There are many kinds of wild mushrooms and edible mushrooms in Wuding, usually in July and August every year. When you come to Wuding, you can also experience the fun of picking wild mushrooms.

Wuding chicken is a local excellent variety formed by long-term natural selection and artificial breeding under the unique geographical and climatic conditions in Wuding County. Wuding chicken is tender in quality, delicious in meat, crisp in bone and high in nutritional value, especially golden in soup after cooking. The quality indexes of Wuding chicken are as follows: Wuding chicken is rich in various amino acids, including aspartic acid ≥ 1.80%, threonine ≥0.90%, glutamic acid ≥3.50%, cystine ≥0.20%, methionine ≥0.50% and lysine ≥ 2.0%; Thawing water loss rate ≤ 2.5%; Total amino acids ≥ 19%.

There are 16 ethnic minorities in Wuding, with profound cultural background and rich ethnic customs. All ethnic groups have their own costumes and diets, and Yi culture has the greatest influence in Wuding. Yi people are the oldest members of the Chinese nation, with a long history and ancient and charming Yi customs. In the long history, the Yi people have formed the characteristics of being good at singing and dancing, and have rich and colorful folk music and dance art.. Ethnic programs are splendid, among which the most famous Torch Festival has profound folk culture connotation and is called "Carnival of the East". Every year on June 24th of the lunar calendar, Wuding will hold a grand celebration ceremony. The main activities are bullfighting, sheep fighting, cockfighting, horse racing, wrestling, song and dance performances, etc.
