Shanghai Zoo is located at No.2381Hongqiao Road, Changning District, Shanghai, next to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Founded in 1954, formerly known as Xijiao Park.

Shanghai Zoo is a large national zoo, covering an area of 743,000 square meters, exhibiting more than 400 kinds of animals, with a building area of 47,237 square meters. It is one of the top ten zoos in China and the second largest city zoo in China.

Shanghai Zoo has world-famous giant pandas known as _ national treasures _ and _ living fossils _, as well as rare wild animals such as golden monkey, South China tiger and Chinese alligator, as well as representative animals from all over the world such as gorillas, African lions, giraffes, kangaroos and tapirs in South America. There are nearly 600 kinds of trees and more than 654.38 million plants in the park, especially the fresh and open lawn of 654.38 million square meters, which basically maintains the topography of the golf course 50 years ago. Every greening and beautification in the park is combined with the ecological environment of animals. In particular, Swan Lake, surrounded by reeds inside and outside the lake area, flocks of pelicans and geese often soar in the blue sky with graceful and vigorous posture.
