Notes on Flood in Shanxi (1)
I don't know if you have brushed this sentence on the Internet these days: "She lit up the sky in 14 provinces, but she couldn't light up her rainy night." It is a big coal province in Shanxi. Although I am not from Shanxi, I am really moved to see this passage. Because, at the moment, Shanxi Province is experiencing an unprecedented disaster. Since the National Day holiday, the precipitation in the counties of 18 in Shanxi Province has exceeded 200mm. Taiyuan, Linfen and Lvliang, which we are familiar with, all set a ten-day cumulative rainfall record of 10, which has not changed for decades. Many local old people say that they have never seen such rain until now. There seems to be a hole in the sky in Shanxi.

The damage caused by continuous rainstorm is first of all flood. Taking Yuncheng, Shanxi Province as an example, the largest flood peak in recent 40 years entered Yuncheng territory two days ago, and Xinjiang County was the most seriously affected. A large number of local manpower was dispatched to build the dam overnight. Many grassroots cadres and armed police officers and soldiers didn't sleep a wink for a day and a night, and finally reinforced the Fenhe Dam with a total length of 13.7 km. However, the flood is still fierce. According to statistics, the flow of Fenhe River in Xinjiang reaches 1044 cubic meters per second. Wherever you go, you can wash away all the property such as vehicles and livestock, and even wash away old houses that have been in disrepair for minutes. To this end, Xinjiang County evacuated nearly 20,000 people. In a similar situation, Qingxu County, Wumahe, Shanxi Province transferred 1.5 million people overnight. But judging from the news photos, many people's houses have been flooded. ...

There is another piece of news that makes people feel sour. The local fire brigade in Linfen received an emergency call for help on the 6th. An old man had asthma and needed to be taken to the hospital, but because the water was too deep to walk, he had to call the fire department for help. When the firemen arrived, they found their mother waiting for help. The two were almost separated by the flood.

In other cities, such as Jinzhong, floods can't stop. The local government had to throw abandoned buses and trucks directly into the river bank to stop them.

Rural areas in Lvliang are seriously flooded because they are located in the lower reaches of Fenhe River. For three consecutive days, the water depth reached more than two meters, and what is even more frightening is that the water level is still rising. The villagers have been short of food because they have no time to protect it. At present, they must first ensure food and clothing for the elderly and children. But if we don't get relief supplies, others will starve.

In addition to floods, there are landslides. A few months ago, the rainy season in Shanxi Province came as usual. Many Tushantou mountainous areas have fully absorbed the precipitation during that period, and the soil has become soft and unable to resist more rain. Heavy rains in recent days have finally led to a large number of landslides. For example, somewhere in Linfen, the corner of the foot of the mountain poured down one by one, instantly engulfing nearby vehicles.

In some places, landslides directly buried several floors of houses, and the scene was as horrible as the doomsday movie.

The house leaks and it rains all night, and Shanxi is still facing cooling. According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, the temperature in most parts of the country has dropped by 4 to 8 degrees since the 7th. On that day, the local temperature in Shanxi was only 2 C, and the first-line flood fighting and rescue team members were constantly shaking when drinking water.

In the cold night with the lowest temperature of 9℃ opposite, the fire fighters who blocked the breach of Ciyao River in Pingyao County still kept working in the flood for more than 8 hours. At rest, the only heating item on them is woven bags.

At present, the rural areas of several counties in Shanxi are facing a shortage of materials. From excavators, generators and pumps to quilts, cotton-padded jackets, daily necessities and even food, all need support. As the saying goes, if one side is in trouble, all sides will support it. However, because the news of the flood has not been paid attention to, Shanxi has only "saved itself" so far. In the rescue, the people of Shanxi have made efforts. But everything is just a drop in the bucket in the face of ten times the natural disasters in the past. For example, hotels in Yuncheng rushed to make 3000 meals overnight and sent them to the disaster area.

Another example is Jinzhong, where the restaurant owner Master Liu sent 4,000 meals in two days. However, Master Liu said that most of these hot meals can only be sent to frontline rescuers, because others can't go to the affected people at all. These two days, he himself was exhausted from cooking.

Qi, a junior girl from Shaanxi, is studying in Ann. I heard that Shanxi's hometown was ravaged by floods, and countless people were still waiting for rescue. She is very enthusiastic and wants to find a local platform to donate materials. But I haven't found a reliable channel for a long time. So she spontaneously set up an online document, so that other people on the internet can also enjoy the relief information in Shanxi, so that more enthusiastic people can donate materials. But this document has not been widely disseminated at all.

In other words, enthusiastic people like Qi and Master Liu alone are not enough to solve Shanxi's urgent needs. They need help from all walks of life.
