The Yellow River is the great cradle of Chinese civilization, the mother river of the Chinese nation and the second longest river in China. The Yellow River originates from the Bayan Kara Mountains in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, flows through nine provinces and regions such as Qinghai and Sichuan, and finally flows into the Bohai Sea. The total length of the main stream is about 5,464 kilometers, and the basin area is about 752,000 square kilometers. It is the river with the largest sediment concentration in the world. The water source in the Yellow River basin is an important barrier to the hydrological and natural ecological environment in China, and the protection of ecological environment and the role of water resources are extremely important.
There are many ecological problems in the Yellow River basin, such as soil erosion, land desertification, surface mining collapse, water shortage and so on. Due to the continuous accumulation of a large amount of sediment in the Yellow River, the riverbed rises, and the area of the Yellow River basin drops sharply, and most of the river water is replenished as groundwater. In addition, excessive deforestation and land reclamation by human beings have led to increasingly serious soil erosion in the Loess Plateau, destruction of the ecological environment in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, and a large increase in industrial and domestic water consumption of people along the coast, constantly seizing the water resources of the Yellow River, resulting in a shortage of water resources in the Yellow River. In addition, the direct discharge of industrial wastewater and domestic wastewater around the Yellow River, the pollution of solid waste, pesticides, heavy metals, etc. And human deforestation have caused serious deterioration of the ecological environment in the Yellow River Basin.
In order to solve the problem of the Yellow River, we can build the Yellow River shelter forest, plant trees and grass, and improve the ecological environment of the Yellow River basin. Both sides of the Yellow River should vigorously carry out afforestation, pay close attention to the construction of the Yellow River shelter belt, and improve the forest coverage rate of the Yellow River basin. Strengthen the supervision of coastal factories, build sewage purification treatment plants, and strictly prohibit excessive sewage from being discharged into and polluting the Yellow River. It is our duty to protect the mother river.
