How big is the market gap in China?
A survey shows that at present, in the electric vehicle market in China, the electric vehicle market with the weight exceeding 100kg is developing best, and the electric vehicle products are becoming more and more abundant. However, the market of electric vehicles with a weight of 100-800kg is still short of competitive products, and electric vehicles with a weight of 800 kg or more are not dominant at present because of their weak substitutability and high technology development cost.

At present, some electric production projects have appeared in some provinces and cities in China, and electric vehicles suitable for local people have been produced. However, due to the lack of relevant supporting policies in the country, these models are currently "sneaking" in some places. A business person who didn't want to be named told the reporter that they had already paid 20,000 yuan for an electric car, and its performance was 30,000 yuan cheaper than that of gasoline cars on the market. However, due to the inability to obtain road rights, these cars can only be used in some "small areas".

The China office of American Elon Investment Company also launched its own electric vehicle product, weighing about 350kg and having an all-aluminum body. At present, the market price is expected to be between 28,000 and 58,000 yuan. Roland said that once the government departments have a clear signal about the development of electric vehicles, they will put electric vehicles into production in the China market and try their best to reduce costs.

So what is the reason why electric vehicles can't develop? Some professionals believe that the main reasons are as follows. First, the current electric vehicle technology may be subversive to traditional automobile enterprises. Electric vehicles don't have engines and gearboxes in the traditional sense. Developing electric vehicles means giving up the traditional core technology of automobiles in the past, which has a wide influence. Therefore, from the perspective of the government and industry sectors, it is still more cautious. Second, because electric vehicles involve relatively complex supporting facilities, it is not convenient to use. Electric vehicles are only experimental projects and have not mastered all the new technologies. Thirdly, due to the cost, the technology of electric vehicle is not mature, and it can't reach the height of traditional technology, so it can only be used as a supplement to traditional vehicles in the short term.
