Fushun Petroleum Institute 1950 was established in Dalian, which is the first petroleum industry school in New China. Moved to Fushun on 1953. Fushun Petroleum Institute has been led by the Central Ministry of Fuel Industry, the Ministry of Petroleum Industry, Liaoning, sinopec group and China Petrochemical Group Corporation. In February, 2000, it was transferred to Liaoning Province, and the management system of "joint construction of the central and local governments, with local management as the mainstay" was implemented. Since its establishment, it has trained more than 40,000 qualified graduates for the country.
