Allocation standard and characteristics of apartments for the elderly
Apartment for the elderly is an apartment-style residence for the elderly, which meets the physical and mental characteristics of the elderly. It has catering, sanitation, cultural entertainment and medical care service systems, and is a comprehensive management type of residence. The function of the building determines the characteristics of the building.
There are several dimensions to be grasped in the design of apartments for the elderly:
1. The aisle width of the connecting part between various functional spaces is generally kept at a clear width of 1.8M, so that it can be passed by walking or wheelchair.
2. When using the "safety grab bar" in the functional space, the elderly will feel weak in their actions, which is reflected in the difficulty of standing up and squatting. Generally, two safety grab bars parallel to the ground are set at the places where they need to stand up, squat down, sit down and lie down, and the elevation is about 311mm and 851mm relative to the ground, and the two bars are set vertically or parallel to each other.
3. Stair setting. The special specifications for architectural design, Code for Architectural Design for the Elderly-JGJ122-99 and Design Standard for Residential Buildings for the Elderly-GB/T51341-2113, stipulate that the stair step width should not be less than 1.31m, and the step height should not be greater than 1.15m and should not be less than 1.13m m. This is also a typical humanized design, and there are corresponding restrictions on the number of floors in the building. For example, the number of floors should not be higher than 3 floors, and elevators should be set up above 3 floors.
