Understanding the business model of "Franchising" is a basic requirement for the ability to invest in the program.
In order to ensure the opening of 3 to 5 new stores in the first year (depending on the scope of the area in question), it is expected that the minimum investment in the first year will be between US$500,000 and US$1,000,000 (which includes the investment for the opening of the first store, the cost of building the infrastructure, the cost of acquiring the franchise, and the capital necessary to obtain a high-quality store site). In addition, an equal amount should be invested in the second year. To this end, DQ expects franchisees to invest a minimum of $750,000 to $1.5 million in the first 24 months of operation. The franchisee's company should ideally be located in one of the three center cities, or not in one of the three cities, but have a strong desire to invest in a project there, have a good understanding of the local situation, and have a good relationship with the local channels and human resource base.
Love DQ's products and brand! Franchisees should be as passionate about DQ as the company. The Franchisee should have experience in operating a Western brand or business with a Western business concept, either in his current business or from personal (and past) senior management experience (e.g., study abroad background).
Successful operational experience in a relevant market, preferably restaurant chains, freelance brands, franchising other franchise brands, other types of retail outlets or services.
Ability to build a dedicated team to run the program. In the initial phase, this team should include a General Manager who has restaurant industry experience and is 100% committed to DQ; a Marketing Manager. And, as the business grows, add support staff in relevant areas (marketing, store location, administration, etc.).
At least one member of the Franchisee's team should be fluent in English to communicate with DQ's corporate headquarters, as all support and legal documents from the headquarters are in English. Only operational and training support is provided by DQ staff in China and is therefore in Chinese.
Ability to cost-effectively acquire high quality store locations in your city (owned or leased).
