Gaozhou Teachers College was founded in 1931, and its predecessor was Maoming County Normal School and Guangdong Gaozhou Women's Normal School. The campus is located in the urban area of Gaozhou City, with Jinziling in the north, Jianjiang in the south and beautiful scenery.

Historical evolution of Gaozhou Normal University

In the 19th year of the Republic of China (1931), Maoming County Rural Normal School was established.

In the 21th year of the Republic of China (1931), it was renamed as Maoming County Normal School.

In the autumn of the 31st year of the Republic of China (1942), Guangdong Gaozhou Women's Normal School was established outside the north gate of Maoming County (now Gaozhou City).
