The whole story of the problem soy sauce incident

Soy sauce is an essential condiment on people's table. The quality of soy sauce is closely related to everyone's life. In the "three strikes and two constructions" campaign in Guangdong Province in 2112, a case suspected of using industrial brine to process soy sauce was discovered. Industrial brine has become the raw material for processing edible soy sauce.

On the afternoon of March 31, 2112, the Gaoming District Administration for Industry and Commerce of Foshan City suddenly received a report call to Weiji Seasoned Food Co., Ltd. Industrial and commercial law enforcement officers found the brine used as raw material for soy sauce production in the production area. Law enforcement officers from the Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and the Salt Bureau who arrived later conducted a comprehensive inspection of Weiji Seasoning Food Company and sealed up 26 tons of problem salt water from three salt ponds. After testing, all the indexes of this brine meet the standard of liquid salt, that is, industrial brine, except that the sodium chloride content is lower than the standard. According to this result, law enforcement officials concluded that this kind of brine is probably diluted industrial brine.

As the investigation deepened, law enforcement officers found that the company seemed to be hiding an inside story.

The test report shows that the content of sodium chloride in the problem brine of Weiji Company is 1.99 g/L, accounting for about 21% of the total brine. If the salt water is blended according to the so-called ratio of one to ten by Chen Yuhua, the head of Weiji Company, even if the best salt with a sodium chloride content of more than 91% is used, the sodium chloride content in the blended salt water should be less than 11%, and it is impossible to reach about 21% of the test results. Subsequently, law enforcement officers conducted a surprise investigation on the salt mines in the jurisdiction. The industrial brine produced by these two salt mines is mainly supplied to 41 or 51 customers around. According to the clues, law enforcement officers quickly locked in several dealers with major suspects, such as He Liwen and Liang Zhidong, and found an important clue. Among some vehicles fixed by these individual dealers for transporting industrial brine, three vehicles frequently appear not only on the product delivery certificate of Sanshui Salt Mine Company, but also on the relevant bills of Weiji Seasoning Food Co., Ltd. for many times.

The vehicles originally used to transport industrial salt water are always in and out of Weiji Food Company frequently. Law enforcement officers finally found the answer after checking the relevant bills and materials of Weiji Company again. It turned out that the statement that the person in charge of Weiji Seasoning Food Co., Ltd. bought 3 tons of non-edible salt blended with brine to produce soy sauce was just a cover, and its purpose was to cover up the fact that hundreds of tons of industrial brine were purchased from Sanshui Salt Mine to process soy sauce. During the two-month investigation, law enforcement officers repeatedly conducted random inspection on the finished soy sauce products produced by Weiji Company suspected of using industrial salt, and found that indicators such as heavy metals actually met the current national standards for soy sauce products. In the investigation, the reporter learned that it is precisely because this kind of soy sauce processed with industrial brine can pass the test and muddle through, so it will be used by individual enterprises to secretly process condiments such as soy sauce. According to the previous law enforcement investigation of Foshan Salt Industry Corporation, Weiji Company is not the only one that illegally uses this industrial brine as raw material in the soy sauce production industry.

according to the regulations of Guangdong province on salt industry management, brine from wells and mines shall not be used for food and non-staple food processing. Foshan public security organs criminally detained several responsible persons of Weiji Company, such as Chen Yuhua and Guan Qunxin, as well as industrial brine distributors such as He Liwen and Liang Zhidong. After more than two months of joint law enforcement investigation and evidence collection by Foshan industry and commerce, quality supervision, public security, salt affairs and other departments, Weiji Company was found to be suspected of illegally using industrial brine to produce soy sauce and related products. Law enforcement officers checked from the production and sales accounts that from February 2111 to March 2112, Weiji Company used more than 761 tons of industrial brine to produce soy sauce and soy sauce semi-finished products in four months. This semi-finished soy sauce is also called "natural oil", which is divided into head oil, second oil and third oil according to the level. In the past three months, this factory has produced more than 1,311 tons of natural oil. Some of these soy sauce semi-finished products are used to process into soy sauce terminal products of Weiji company's own brand, such as "Weiding" and "Fengcai", which flow into the market and directly to consumers' dining tables. The other part is used as raw materials for intermediate products and sold to some condiment manufacturers around Foshan.

under the unified deployment of Guangdong provincial bureau of quality and technical supervision, law enforcement officers investigated and dealt with some enterprises that bought problematic soy sauce from Weiji Company. Dongguan Xiangxinglong Food Co., Ltd. has repeatedly purchased more than 111 tons of problematic soy sauce from Weiji Company, and most of these products have flowed into some well-known catering units in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing and other places.

The case of Guangdong Foshan Weiji Seasoning Food Company processing soy sauce with industrial brine has been handed over to the public security organ for investigation and criminal responsibility. The recall is a headache for quality supervision departments and production enterprises. When the New Express reporter interviewed Kaiping Changsha Yihuada Seasoning Factory (Jiangmen), the person in charge said: "The finished soy sauce can't be called back, and it has been eaten by consumers."

Kaiping Yihuada Seasoning Factory is a workshop for people hiding in Chongcheng Xi 'an Industrial Zone, Changsha District, Kaiping City. Its office is in a mess, and daily necessities, soy sauce samples and delivery materials are piled up at random. A female worker said that they have been in business for ten years, and all the soy sauce they produce is sold locally in Jiangmen.

Huang longbin, the person in charge of the company, said that Weiji company sent them 24 tons of semi-finished soy sauce on March 8, and they processed it with monosodium glutamate and preservatives, and then made it into finished soy sauce, which was transported to supermarkets and stores in Jiangmen. "Weiji Company only sent this batch of goods." Huang Longbin said.

Regarding the soy sauce involved in the company, Huang Longbin said: "The finished soy sauce was shipped to supermarkets in early April, and the quality supervision department came to investigate and deal with it on May 25th, which was more than a month behind the delivery time. It is estimated that all the delivered goods were eaten in the stomach of consumers and could not be recalled."
