1 Ancient Ripple Garden

3 Qiuxia Garden

Located in East Street of Jiading Town, Jiading District, Shanghai, Qiuxia Garden is a Ming Dynasty garden with a unique style, which is one of the five classical gardens in Shanghai, merged by Gong's Garden, Shen's Garden, Jin's Garden and Chenghuang Temple in the Ming Dynasty. Qiuxia Garden was built in the Zhengde and Jiajing years (1506-1566 AD), was the private garden of Gong Hong, the Minister of Industry at that time, the garden has a pine wind ridge, bird language embankment, cold incense room, counting rain lounge, peach blossom pools, sprinkle snow corridor of the scenic beauty. Early Qing dynasty Gong's children and grandchildren decline, the garden belongs to the Wang family name, began to be called Qiu Xia nursery. Qing Yongzheng four years (A.D. 1726) changed to the City God Temple. In Qianlong, merged with east neighbor Shen's east yard, converted into the back garden of City God Temple. After being destroyed many times, most of the existing buildings were rebuilt after the first year of Tongzhi (1862). Most of the buildings in the garden were built in the Ming Dynasty, while the City God Temple dates back to the Song Dynasty, making it the oldest garden in Shanghai.

The Qiuxia Garden is centered on a clear water pond, surrounded by rocky mountains and ancient trees, with a unique art of gardening, and is divided into four scenic spots, including Peach Blossom Pond, Ningsha Pavilion, Qingjing Hall, and Euphrasia Temple. In the courtyard, there is also Lu Yanshao's "Evening Sunshine Xuan" named after Lu Yanshao's name, displaying Lu Yanshao's relics and some pictures of his artistic activities, notes, manuscripts, various editions of Lu Yanshao's art monographs, theses, albums, and monographs of domestic and foreign experts' research and commentaries on Lu Yanshao. At present, 75 pieces of Lu Yanshao's works from the 40s to the 90s are in the collection of the museum.
