6 Siyang City Forest Park, with a long history and complicated changes, was established in Qin Dynasty and built in Western Zhou Dynasty. Lingxian County was located in Qin Dynasty, and it was renamed Geyou County in Western Han Dynasty. Siyang County was established in the first year of Emperor Yuan Ding (116 BC); In the fourth year of Yuan Ding (113 BC), Surabaya was established in Siyang, Lingxian and Yuxian, and its capital was located in Lingcheng (now Lingcheng Village in Zhongxing Town).

After the Han Dynasty, there were frequent wars, and the name of Siyang was changeable. In the Three Kingdoms period, it was called Weiyang, and it was settled in Suyu in the Jin Dynasty. In the 14th year of Yuan Dynasty (1277), it was renamed Taoyuan County, and in the third year of the Republic of China (1914), it was renamed Siyang again because it was similar to Taoyuan County in Hunan Province.

The emerging ecological park

The park is located on the east side of the cultural new city in the north of the city, adjacent to the noble residential area in the west and Wencheng Road in the south, with a total investment of 21 million yuan, covering an area of 414 mu, of which the water surface is 171 mu, designed by the Landscape Design Institute of Nanjing Forestry University, and built by Huai 'an Minsheng Enterprise Co., Ltd. in BT mode. The park makes full use of natural sleep, properly treats the micro-topography, takes "natural, forest and original ecology" as the leading intention, takes tall trees, native trees and ancient and famous trees as the plant framework of the forest wetland park, and plants more than 31,111 trees and shrubs such as Cinnamomum camphora, Peach Blossom, Osmanthus fragrans, Cedar, big trees and Metasequoia, which are decorated with garden roads, architectural sketches and leisure seats. After the completion of the eco-park, the dominant wind in the city blows from the northeast to the inside, bringing fresh breath to the whole city and greatly improving the quality of the urban environment.

There is a 63km-long old Yellow River course in Siyang County. The once desolate old course of the Yellow River has now become a veritable forest belt.
