The Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Individual Industrial and Commercial Households

Article 2 stipulates:

Citizens who have the ability to do business and are registered by the administration for industry and commerce in accordance with the provisions of these regulations to engage in industrial and commercial business are individual industrial and commercial households.

Individual industrial and commercial households may operate individually or as a family.

The lawful rights and interests of individual industrial and commercial households are protected by law and shall not be infringed upon by any unit or individual.

The Chinese People's *** and National Code

Article 54 provides:

Natural persons engaged in industrial and commercial operations, registered in accordance with the law, for individual business households. Individual industrial and commercial households can start a name.
