The first one is, can SEO guarantee keyword ranking and traffic? The answer is no, no matter where on the internet, no matter who says they can guarantee it, I always insist on answering no, even if the consultant turns away contemptuously. Because I really can't promise. Correct and lasting optimization, there is a great possibility to get rankings and traffic, but it is not guaranteed. Even if the possibility reaches 90%, it is not a guarantee.
Unless you assure your customers that the boring query word "Beijing Xinjiekou SEO Company" is basically not searched. This is tantamount to someone asking the coach, can you guarantee the effect of practicing 100-meter running with you? The coach replied, I can guarantee that you will run for 30 seconds. It is estimated that no coach will answer this question, but the SEO industry has everything. Do you think no one knows this word? Yes
In terms of effect guarantee, SEO can't compare with PPC, but at most it can compare with newspaper and magazine advertisements. However, what is more attractive than PPC is that once PPC stops spending money, the traffic disappears immediately, and the ranking and traffic achieved by formal SEO are unlikely to disappear as soon as it stops.
The second question is, how long will it take SEO to see the effect? The answer is, maybe. SEO is such a sad thing, with great uncertainty. Of course, I will put it more euphemistically: it is impossible to accurately predict when it will take effect, because there are too many variables, such as website history, content quality, website scale, SEO investment, technology optimization execution speed, competitors and so on. Generally speaking, it takes more than 6 months to see the effect after optimization.
Sometimes it doesn't take that long, and it's common for 1 or 2 months to have an effect, but the problem is that every project and website are different, so it's impossible to be accurate, so try to make customers have the psychological expectation of a protracted war.
Although it is impossible to accurately predict how long it will take to see the results after optimization, some people have counted the average age of the ranking pages, so SEO people can get a general idea of how old the pages will be, which is a good reference for how long SEO can produce results. Persuading customers is also useful. The data shows that it takes such a long time to get the ranking on average.
Ahrefs posted a post in February 20 17: How long will it take to get a ranking in Google? Briefly introduce the main data.
How old is the home page?
Ahrefs counted 2 million random keywords on the first 10 page. The data are as follows:
It can be seen that the top 10 pages are more than two years on average, and the older they are, the number one page has existed for nearly three years on average.
Among the top 10 pages, nearly 60% are pages with more than 3 years, less than 20% are pages with more than 2 years, and only 22% are pages with less than 1 year.
So, what is the page ranking in 1? The data are as follows:
It can be seen that the number one page is only 1%, and only 4% of the pages ranked 1 0 are new pages of 1.
How long does it take a page to get a Google ranking?
Ahrefs randomly selects 2 million pages from the page database crawled by its own spiders every year (spiders found these pages before 1 year), and counts the keyword rankings obtained by these pages. The results are as follows:
Blue is the top 10 ranking page, orange is the top11-kloc-0/00 ranking page, and gray is the top 100 ranking page.
On the left is the average data of all pages, the first page on the right is the page with high domain name authority (DR is the indicator of domain authority), the middle is medium, and the rightmost page is the page with low domain authority.
It can be seen that only 5.7% of these 1 year-old pages have obtained the top 10 ranking of at least one keyword. The stronger the domain name chain, the higher the proportion, and the more new pages rank. 1 74.8% of the newly added pages are basically not ranked.
Then look at the 5.7% ranking page, and see how long it took from ranking to entering 10. The results are as follows:
Most pages took 6 1- 182 days, and never ranked to 10, which is 2-6 months.
It should be noted that this data does not mean that the new page can enter the home page after 2-6 months of SEO. This is only the time that 5.7% entered the first page, and the remaining 94.3% did not enter the first page at all.
According to the popularity of keywords and the number of queries, we can see this result again:
The more popular keywords are, the higher the query volume is, and the lower the proportion of new pages being ranked. Only 0.3% of the newly added pages in 1 year have been ranked as the first page of buzzwords with more than 50,000 queries per month.
Time for these new pages to rank according to the popularity of keywords:
Blue is a popular word (more than 50,000 times per month), orange is a moderate word (50,000-20,000 times per month), and gray is an unpopular word (below 1 10,000 words per month).
It can be seen that in the 5.7% of the first 10 page, words with moderate competition need more than 6 months, and hot words need more than 8 months. It should also be noted that this is the time for a small number of pages to get the first page ranking, and most of the new pages of 1 have no ranking at all.
To sum up:
1 94.3% of the newly added pages didn't get any ranking (after 10 page).
5.7% of the pages lucky enough to get the ranking need 2-6 months to get the ranking.
5.7% of the ranking pages need more than 8 months to get the ranking of popular keywords.
