The origin of Wuzhong's name
In the early Ming Dynasty, due to the need of border defense, the Ming government set up nine major military towns throughout the country, including two towns in Ningxia: Guyuan Town and Ningxia Town. Wuzhong belongs to Ningxia town. There are many military forts near Wuzhong today. At first, there was no name, only the name of their captain. Over time, the names of these village chiefs have evolved into place names. "Wuzhong" was the name of a village head stationed here at that time.

Wuzhong, a native of Linhuaiguan Town, Fengyang County, Anhui Province, is a hereditary Jinghai Hou. His father Zhen Wu and uncle Wu Liang are all one of the 63 founding heroes of Daming. In the twenty-third year of Hongwu, Hu was implicated and Wu Zhong was punished.
