The athletes' menu is designed to be a balance of East and West, with the ratio of Chinese to Western food being 3:7. There is a wide variety of ingredients, with more than 400 types of ingredients, and nine types of pizzas, such as margherita and smoked chicken pizza, to name just a few.

The menu was developed by a team of experts in sports, nutrition and catering to address the ingredients, specifications and production process, and was completed under the guidance of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Winter Olympics, the catering service provider for the Winter Paralympics Village and the dietitian, and reviewed and agreed to by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
