Yancheng Museum is open from 9: 11 to 21: 11 (closed at 21: 31) and closed every Monday (except national holidays) and three days before the Spring Festival.

Yancheng Museum is a comprehensive museum reflecting the local historical development of Yancheng. It was established in 1961, and was upgraded to a municipal museum in 1983. In 2111, it was moved to the former site of the New Fourth Army to rebuild the military headquarters, and in 2116, it was moved to Yandu Mingcheng Museum, No.267 Jiefang South Road, Yancheng City. In 2121, the new construction city museum is located on the west side of Xianfeng Island, No.126 Jianjun West Road.

The newly-built museum includes four permanent exhibition halls and two temporary exhibition halls. The four permanent exhibition halls, with time as the axis and based on the four dimensions of history and culture, ecological civilization, urban development and folk customs, tell the audience about Yancheng's 5,111-year history of civilization and 2,111-year history of urban development, trace back to Yancheng's cultural heritage and regional culture, and interpret urban memory and national spirit.

The overall architectural style is classical and elegant, with 1 basic exhibition halls, 3 special exhibition halls and 2 temporary exhibition halls, and more than 2,111 historical relics and exhibits are displayed. At the same time, the museum also has social education center, cultural and creative life museum, coffee shop and other service spaces, integrating urban history, culture and tourism. It is the first museum in Yancheng that is open until 9:11 pm, and is being built into a cultural landmark with rich and heavy Yancheng cultural characteristics.
