What is Green Food? How is green food certified?

Green food refers to safe, high-quality and nutritious food that is free from pollution, according to the principle of sustainable development, produced in accordance with a specific production method, and recognized by a specialized agency and licensed to use the Green Food Label (Figure 2). Green food certification refers to the process by which an authoritative third-party organization tests food products in accordance with relevant green food standards and issues inspection reports, and grants the green food label to food products that meet the standards.

Currently, green food standards are categorized into two technical grades, namely, Grade AA green food standards and Grade A green food standards.

AA grade green food refers to the environment of the place of origin that meets the requirements of NY/T 391-2000 "Environmental Quality Standard for Green Food Producing Areas", the production process does not use chemically synthesized fertilizers, pesticides, veterinary drugs, feed additives, food additives, and other substances that are harmful to the environment and health, and it is produced according to the organic production method, and the quality of the product meets the green food product standard, and the product is recognized by the specialized agencies as meeting the standard of green food. Green food product standards, recognized by the specialized agencies, licensed to use the AA grade green food logo products.

Green food of grade A refers to the environment of the place of origin in line with the requirements of NY/T 391-2000, the production process is in strict accordance with the guidelines for the use of green food production materials and the requirements of the production operating procedures, limited use of chemical synthetic production materials, product quality is in line with the standards of green food products, recognized by the specialized agencies, licensed to use the green food of grade A logo products. The products are recognized by specialized agencies and licensed to use the A-grade green food logo.
