EMU: EMU train, also known as EMU train, is a new term of transportation in China and a type of modern train. It consists of a number of powered vehicles (EMU) and unpowered vehicles (trailers), and the trains run in a fixed marshalling mode during normal service. Article 208th of Railway Technical Management Regulations stipulates that EMU trains are self-propelled fixed marshalling trains.
The simplest EMU is a car with its own power, such as Guangzhou Metro APM train. Power decentralized emus are composed of multiple emus and non-emus, such as harmony series emus. There are also cases where the whole vehicle is powered, such as maglev trains. Power-concentrated EMUs consist of one or two EMUs located at the rear of the train and several non-power cars located in the middle, such as China Star Electric EMUs.
