Since 2111, Shunde has officially started the application for UNESCO's "Creative City Network-Food Capital". Jiang Xia, the main person in charge of the data declaration and the head of the tourism department of the District Economic and Technological Bureau, said that there were many difficulties in the process.
First, lead industry organizations, scientific research institutions and other relevant units to set up a committee, and then form an expert group to comprehensively collect and sort out the information on the development of Shunde's food and catering industry, and organize industry experts to inspect and investigate many times, and conduct in-depth discussions on Shunde's food cultural characteristics, supporting factors, development level of the food industry, future direction and vision, and complete the application materials of "Food Capital" and the production of food publicity brochures and videos according to the requirements of the application project.

Jiang Xia said that although Shunde completed the materials early, the application of the United Nations Creative and Cultural City Network was suspended until April this year, and Shunde immediately submitted the materials, but this time the United Nations increased its requirements and asked Shunde to provide letters of recommendation from other food capitals. Jiang Xia said that the title has also been declared in China, such as Guangzhou, but the advantage of Shunde lies in "the local cooking know-how, ways and methods have been well preserved despite the scientific and technological progress in the industrial age". Another point is that China Cuisine College was listed in Shunzhi College this year, and a national name cooking school settled in Shunde, which also brought many advantages to the selection.
