Fengshan Academy was founded in the 24th year of Qing Qianlong (1759) by He Ze, the former magistrate of Nianbo County. According to Xie Feng's inscription on Fengshan Academy in Nianbo County during the Light Year of the Qing Dynasty, "Climbing the stairs and looking at Nanshan, the five peaks are flat and the ancient trees are shaded, and the flowers and trees are sparse and the elms and apricot trees meet each other". Fengshan Academy has elegant scenery and pleasant environment, which is really a good place to train talents.
Fengshan Academy truly regards the Academy as a "place for cultivating national talents", enrolls students from Han, Tu, Tibetan, Hui and other ethnic groups, invites famous teachers to give lectures, urges disciples to "learn poetry, get close to teachers and friends, and strive for fame", and adopts the principle of combining lectures with lectures to educate students to study hard and become talents. He, Tang Yizeng and during their tenure, they all attached great importance to the teaching activities of Fengshan Academy, and often went to the Academy to supervise, guide and encourage them. Among them, He also wrote a poem "A Mid-Autumn Festival night for the students in the academy": "Did you hear your son fall into the dust and pick up some pieces for the students? Tonight, the fragrance is full of sleeves, and it will be uprooted in the next autumn. " This poem encourages students to learn from the outside to the inside, from the superficial to the deep, and then master the knowledge fundamentally and use it for me. From the sixth year of Yongzheng (1728) to the tenth year of Guangxu (1884), there have been 9 juren and 39 meritorious students admitted to Fengshan Academy in Nianbo area, and there are more scholars.
At that time, Fengshan Academy, with its lingering ink fragrance and flourishing book style, cultivated a large number of outstanding talents and made positive contributions to the development of local culture and education. In the thirty-first year of Guangxu (1905), Fengshan Academy was transformed into a higher primary school hall in Ledu County, and the old Fengshan Academy completed its long historical mission.
Happily, when the Nimbus sailed into 2005, Mao, the former deputy commissioner of Haidong Administrative Office and the founder of Ledu County Elderly Welfare Service Center, revived Fengshan Academy, which had been sleeping for more than 100 years, after nearly a year of vigorous advocacy and unremitting efforts, and the legacy of the past continued, and the thick ink-scented books drifted away again. The difference is that the restored Fengshan Academy is no longer a school or a place to carry out teaching activities, but a mass organization that excavates, studies, promotes and inherits local history and culture. Its leading body is the Council, which can be said to have absorbed the retired and in-service middle-aged and old-aged cultural elites in Ledu, and also hired many famous provincial experts such as Pu Wencheng, Xie Zuo, Ma Guangxing and Li Fengchun as consultants. Mr. Mao was naturally elected as the chairman of the first Council.
