Yancheng Library has seven departments, including office, reader service department, information technology department, research and counseling department, children's department, editing department and exhibition department. Its external services include literature lending office, comprehensive lending office, children's lending office, newspaper reading room, periodical reading room, reference room, local literature room, Hu Qiaomu book collection memorial room, electronic reading room and study room, and so on. With the development of librarianship, our library already has relatively complete modern communication facilities, microcomputer network retrieval, multimedia reading guidance, automatic management system, and "Reading Show" information retrieval platform, and self-built characteristic databases of local documents, intangible cultural heritage, genealogy and other collections are under construction.

Yancheng Library currently has 51 regular employees and 18 supernumerary contract workers, of whom more than 81% have college education, 2 have full senior titles, 12 have sub-senior titles and 19 have intermediate titles, of which 42.2% have sub-senior titles or above. Our library adheres to the principle of "keeping a steady head and developing a piece" and the tenet of "readers first, service first". While doing a good job in front of the library, we insist on going out of the library and holding activities such as national reading month, May service publicity week, red scarf reading essay contest, hot knowledge lecture and various large-scale literature exhibitions in combination with current events and traditional festivals and holidays.
